I love scrabble (I have the old fashion board game and a game for my Nintendo DS).  When I saw scrabble flash advertised, I really couldn't wait to give it a try.  I asked my husband to get it for me for Christmas.  Good thing I played it Christmas day because I've had a hard time getting it away from my husband--he is absolutely addicted to the game.  It's a fast, fun and educational game.  I love that it keeps track of the number of words you make and it also tells you how many could have been made.  It's easy to use so far I have had no problems with it.  It even has a nice case to store the 5 electronic tiles.  There are several modes:  scrabble flash which is a one player mode where you make as many 3, 4 and 5 letter words as you can before time runs out; scrabble five letter flash where you score points for each five letter you make for each letter combination given; scrabble pass flash where you can play with others trying to form five letter words from the given letters.  So far I've spent the most time playing scrabble flash--that is when I can get the game away from my husband!!  If you love to play scrabble and want some fast fun, get scrabble flash--you won't be disappointed.

This is a new twist on a classic, well-loved game.

This game has 3 basic options for play. 1) Make as many 3+ letter words as possible in the time allotted (one minute) - same letters for all words; 2) Make as many 5 letter words as possible in the time allotted (one minute with 5 second extension for each 5 letter word) - letters change between words; 3) Make a 5 letter word in the time allotted, if successful pass to the next player, etc.  If you are not successful you are out.

Option 1 & 2 are one player games, option 3 is multi player.  There is also an option to play with 4 cubes rather than 5.

Overall this is simple to play and can be used for kids or adults which makes this nice for family play.  However, from the marketing, packaging, etc. I would not have expected that this game is geared towards one player options.  While group play is possible I personally found group play was not very exciting.  I would not recommend this game for its multi-player options - only for single player options.

I'm a word Wiz

Comments about Hasbro Scrabble Flash:

When I first opened this game I thought it would be very difficult to play but it actually isn't that difficult. I play one time and i end up playing 6 or 7 times. I showed everybody in my house the game and they are the same way. Up for a word challenge with a timer? Then I recommend this game

Shouldn't be called Scrabble!

Comments about Hasbro Scrabble Flash:

As a very very very avid fanatic of the real Scrabble, I admit that when I see these Scrabble offspring games, I cringe and die a little inside! I was given this as a gift, and because I think everything deserves at least one chance, I decided to give this a shot. It is quite a fun game, don't get me wrong. And for many people, this is a lot easier to play than the real Scrabble game. I think that younger kids might have more fun with this rather than those who are used to playing true Scrabble. While the scoring part might have similarities with Scrabble scoring, the actual premise of this game has nothing to do with Scrabble, which is why I don't know why it is named Scrabble at all! For the most part, as I mentioned, it can be fun and the one good part, maybe for practising, is that you can play this on your own. Unless you're a real geek, it's pretty hard to play Scrabble on your own!

Scrabble Flash is just ok.

Comments about Hasbro Scrabble Flash:

Actually feel like the old scrabble game is more fun than this electronic version. Not that happy with the electronic Scrabble Flash version as I thought I would have been.  There isn't anything wrong with the game, it just doesn't really

have the WOW factor it did when I saw it advertised on television.  The cubes are alittle slow responding while you are trying to play and as well as, when you are trying to shut the Scrabble Flash down for the night.  Truthfully, I think the old Scrabble board game would probably be more fun then this electronic version. Very disappointing.

I also feel that the Scrabble Flash game is a bit pricey for what you actually get in the box.  The game only comes with one set of four cubes, so if more than one person is trying to play, you must wait for the first person to finish before you can choose yhour letters.  If I had to do it again, I would not have purchased this game for my daughter.

Tons of fun for a party or by yourself!

Comments about Hasbro Scrabble Flash:

I really love word games so when I opened Scrabble Flash on Christmas morning I was super excited! My in-laws did a good job at picking out a present for me! With just 5 little cubes there are 3 different games...2 that you can play by yourself or with one other person and the other that you can play with a big group of people. Each little cube has a button because these cubes can be in any order and they can like talk to each other and put themselves in the right order, it's crazy! You have to set them right next to each other in order to work correctly and you cannot push buttons willy-nilly or it will freeze up so beware of that! I really like the game number 2 where you have to find as many 5 letter words that you can in the time given.  The group game is kind of the same except after your turn finding the 5 letter word you pass it to the next person and then the time gets shorter and shorter, it's so much fun!!

Easy to pick up and addicting, didn't want to put it down!

Comments about Hasbro Scrabble Flash:

This was really simple to pick up and play. I didn't have to read through pages and pages of instructions to figure it out. Once I got going I didn't want to stop. It's so quick to play a round (1 set of letters) that I just kept playing round after round and lost track of time.

I liked that the words that it recognized didn't have to just be 5 letter words. The game recognized 3 and 4 letter words also.

My only criticism of this game is that there is no way to track which words you've already used. So if you use the same word again you don't get points and you've wasted a little bit of time creating an already used word. But given the way the game works I don't see a way to track, or list, the words you've already used.

I really liked this game and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys word games.

If you like Scrabble, you'll like Scrabble Flash

By

from Ridgewood, NY

Comments about Hasbro Scrabble Flash:

I bought the Scrabble Flash cubes because my old scrabble set was missing letters, as everyones is after a year or so, and I didn't want to go through the tile problem again.  This game definitely fixes the tile loss issue, as each player is given a set of little digital flash cubes that letters appear on. These things are bigger, easier to read, and well they're more fun to play with in general. The batteries in them last for I don't know how long, I haven't run into any problems yet, and really, even if you played this game once or twice a week, I can't see the batteries running out until you have had the game for a good, long time.  The game comes with instructions on how to play the three games that they have set up for the cubes, and while the classic scrabble-esque game is just like scrabble and pretty cool, I have to say that the solo game is pretty much as fun as playing scrabble by yourself. Great game for friends and fun though, especially if your a fan of scrabble or just word games in general
