From the realm of not-so-difficult games comes Hi Ho Cherry-O of which I was a player for a long time when I was younger. The premise is quite simple, collecting cherries from a tree, a placing them in your bucket. The first one to have 10 cherries in their bucket and yell out "Hi Ho Cherry-O"… read full review »

A co-worker gave me the Hasbro Hi Ho Cherry-O Counting Game because her son had grown out of it.  I had never heard of it at the time and was told it was a classic.  After some explanation of what the game involved, I thought it would be a great learning game for my… read full review »

I saw this game when I was looking for games that my 4 and 6 year old could play together without too many hard instructions and really long turn taking. They colorfulf box caught my kids attention. We bought the game for under $10 at our local department store - seems like it is available just about anywhere. We brought it home and got it out - immediately the cherries were everywhere becuase they do not sit securely on the tree. They roll off the table very easily and are hard for little fingers to pick up. Then we played the game. You spin the spinner and decide if you get to collect… read full review »

We owned this game,it was alot of fun for a first game around the kindergarden age. — You really have to give this game a second look , it's a little more challengeing than it looks. — A great first counting game. — I reccomend that you have to place this game on a table or carpet so you don't bump the game, the cherrys go everywhere... — A proud owner of this game.,a nice family starting out game young children can play. —… read full review »

I found this for a great deal at ToysRus and was hesitant to give to my daughter right away since she's not yet 3 but she insisted on playing as soon as we got home.   She absolutely loves it and is one of her favorite games.  It's a great way to teach counting while at the same time she's having fun with it.  It's also good to involve the family, she insists on mommy and daddy [laying with her.  Ours did come with an extra piece for each color but it still could be easy to loose, this wouldn't be a game you would just want to throw in the toybox.  My daughter… read full review »

I received this game at holiday season of last year, and I was told that this is a great classic game for young kids learning to count. All that is absolutely true. What I most like about it is that it is a fast-paced game, and doesn't get boring like many others. Before the kids can get bored, the game is already over, and another game can be started if so desired. The only downside is that I'm always on my hands and knees searching for lost cherries. I've become so obsessed, that I count the cherries each time we put the toy away. The lost cherries have always turned up, but I'm scared… read full review »

I like this game.  It helps children learn counting and more or less values.  I would recomend it for bright 3 and 4 year olds.  Keep in mind the "cherries" are small and easy to lose and could be a choking hazard so you must supervise.  That would be the draw back i see to this classic game,  It is boring for adults!  It consists of a spinner and a board with holes in trees and baskets you play by spinning the spinner and you gain and lose cherries for your tree.  When you fill your tree you win. It does get outgrown rather… read full review »

I gave this game to my two young grandsons.  They both enjoy the game concept and have fun counting out the cherries.  Unfortunately the cherries do not sit securely on their trees and if the boys aren't careful the cherries get mispositioned and the boys don't know who has how many cherries.  The pieces are small and hook together so they can get lost easily or be moved when trying to put them on the tree.  I just have to keep an eye on things and be sure to count the cherries when putting the game away. … read full review »

My 3 year old and 4 year old are IN LOVE with this game! My daughter loves putting the cherries in the holes and my son loves to play and win! This is a game that involves being able to count up to 10 so both of my kids feel very proficient and have fun - no stress of not being able to read what the game says. I highly recommend it for kids who don't put things in their mouths - otherwise the cherries will all be gone! —… read full review »

My degree is in a developmental field, so I am always looking for games that teach.  I remembered this one as a child, so I picked it up for my preschooler.  Unfortunately, it is limited in the skills it teaches (counting) in comparison to the negative points.  My kids are always losing the apples, so now only 3 people can play at at time, and they do hurt when you step on them! — … read full review »

Hi Ho Cherry-O is a game I used to play with my younger cousins, so I couldn't wait to get it for my children. We're not big on video games and electronic toys, so they are used to playing board-type games. This one just doesn't seem to hold their attention, but maybe they need to grow into it. It is a great game for teaching preschoolers some basic counting skills, so we'll be holding on to this one. —… read full review »

This is a very fun game - although it is sometimes hard for little ones to handle the very small cherries and get them to stay put in the trees.  My daughter decided that if you turn the cherries upside down (stems going into the hole) that they stay better.  My kids love to play this game!  We have had this game for several years now, and have not lost any… read full review »

My son loves playing this game.  I don't mind playing the game along side of him. — It teaches him how to add nd subtract all awhile having fun doing it . This game is easy to play and understand.  You can play with as few as two people or as many as four.  The only problem with the game is keeping up with those silly litttle cherries. — … read full review »

This game is so fun! My children love it. It's not too babyish for the oldest child to play along with the younger two. It is great for teaching counting and even introduces some subtraction concepts. The pictures are cute on the board and the concept is great. The only negative is the little cherries are almost too small for little hands to… read full review »

My children love this game and love to shout out HI HO CHERRY-O.  The game is easy to play and great when you have kids of different ages.  My 3 year old grasped the concept of how to play it right away.  The classics are classics for a reason and I recommend adding this to your game collection! … read full review »
