I used this for both of my dogs when they were alive, but it was definitely the best for my golden retriever because her hair was so long. I used to bathe her twice a month and I always used Hartz Oatmeal Shampoo for Dogs. Not only did her fur dry to a nice and soft sheen, her skin was great too. She used to itch a lot in the summer, but this shampoo really helped with that problem. She would get hot spots that would get kind of nasty if she kept biting and licking at them. I noticed a significant difference in her licking and scratching after I started using this product. I also think it has a simple and neat scent that did not irritate my allergies. This is a pet shampoo that I would definitely recommend, especially to those that have pets with long fur. Side Effects Any side effects that I may have noticed were good ones. There were no bad side effects with this shampoo. I thought it was wonderful.

I have two chihuahuah puppies that love to run and roll around in the dirt and mug. This product does a great job of cleaning them up and leaving them with a great scent! Seriously the scent of this product is great. It does not smell like the typical dog shampoo which is usually a little harsher. This shampoos leaves them smelling fresh and clean. This product also does a great job at keeping the skin nice and soft and fur nice and shiney. Quality of Ingredients Overall this product has great ingredients that works to keep my two chihuahua's fur and skin healthy. It leaves them smelling and looking amazing. It keeps their skin soft and fur shiney. i will definently buy this product againt. Side Effects I have had no side effects with this product. Sometimes shampoos leave my dogs eyes a little red and bothered. This has not happened with this product so far. It also leaves my dogs skin moisterized and healthy. I would recommend this product to anyone with pets.

My vet and groomer both recommended oatmeal shampoo for my miniature schnauzers horrible dry skin and I was very pleased to find an affordable option that actually did it's job. I just wish it would leave my dog smelling better. I can't really fault the shampoo though. It claims to clean the dog and remove dry skin, not make the dog smell like amazing. Quality of Ingredients The ingredients did do what they said they would do. My dog's skin is no longer dry and flaky and I'm very pleased with that. I really just wish that there was something in there that would make my puppy smell nice and not just like a wet dog. Little bummer on that point. Side Effects I've had no negative side effects from using this product. My dog had horrible dry skin that would constantly bother him and would flake off making him look terrible. This shampoo removed the dry skin, giving him much needed relief. He no longer spends his time scratching and whining. He can finally just be a dog!

This is a good basic shampoo, especially if your dog has any issues with itching or scratching, which mine does. This gives your dog's coat a good clean, it smells pleasant, and has a nice creamy feel to it. It makes giving a bath quite a bit easier than with, say, a clear or non-creamy shampoo. Quality of Ingredients I think the ingredients are pretty basic and are well targeted for dogs with scratching issues. It's definitely not a hypoallergenic formula, so if your dog still itches after using this a few times, it might be time to switch. Side Effects I never heard my dog complain! I never noticed any adverse reactions.

My dog and I love this shampoo!! She has sensitive skin, and with harsh products it makes her skin red. If her skin gets irritated, it gets red, and when it gets red, she licks. She licks, and licks, and then she gets sick at her stomach. I asked the vet what she used, and she said Hartz Oatmeal Shampoo is best. I agree! She gets a bath once a month, sometimes more frequently if shes out more. I would recommend this shampoo to anybody. Small breed, large breed, short haired, and long haired. This shampoo is for any dog, with a owner looking for a great, gentle shampoo. Quality of Ingredients I think the quality of ingredients is wonderful. A natural based product with no dyes, or perfumes. Side Effects No side effects at all! Slather on your dog and rinse off! It is as easy as that, and it also keeps my dog's hair nice and shiny. It also seems to condition her hair, which is a added plus because it is so hard to wash regular conditioner out of any dogs hair.

One of my dogs had very dry skin, and was always scratching. I did not like bathing him because the shampoo would make his skin even more dry. His skin was flaking and he couldn't make it through the night without waking up to scratch. I saw Hartz Oatmeal Shampoo and decided to try this on him. It immediately helped. His skin wasn't so dry, and his flaking got better. With this shampoo you can bath your dog as much as you want without worrying about the shampoo drying his or her skin out. It gives your dog a beautiful coat of fur, and helps to soothe dry skin. The smell is mild and it is not bad. It bubbles quite a bit so you don't need to too much shampoo. It is more natural than most products, and I try to keep chemicals away from my dogs so this is the perfect shampoo for them. Quality of Ingredients The ingredients are more natural than other dog shampoos. There are less chemicals and is better for your dog. Side Effects I have never noticed any side affects when using this shampoo on my dogs.

We just adopted an 8 month old puppy who is a mutt. And we love him dearly! Fortunately, he has short hair so shedding isn't an issue. We did notice that he was scratching a lot every now and then. After searching for and not finding any fleas, we thought maybe his skin was a little dry. I did some research and saw good reviews for oatmeal shampoos. I bought the Hartz because it was a good price and I'd heard of the brand. We just gave Max a bath today and he looks and smells great. His coloring is a mixture of black, white and brown and all of his fur is very soft and shiny. i wish I could find a shampoo that would do as good as of a job on MY hair. The scent is really nice and not strong. When we were shampooing him, we used a very small amount and added more when we needed it. The shampoo was easy to rinse off and worked really well. Side Effects We noticed that poor Max scratched himself like crazy after his bath so sadly, we had to stop using this,.

Hi everyone. I am going to review Hartz Soothing Oatmeal Shampoo for dogs. I decided to give my dog a bath to get cleaned up a bit and to get used to the bath tub, so I went and purchased a bottle of Hartz Oatmeal Shampoo for Dogs, mainly because it was on sale, but also because moisturizing my dog's skin and fur sounded like a good idea. After having used about half of the 18 fl oz bottle on my dog, I have a few comments to make on this product. POSITIVES! 1. It really seemed to lather nicely on my dog's fur. 2. Did not seem to bother my dog before or after her fur had dried, which was a plus! 3. The scent after her fur was dry was not too strong. It was actually rather pleasant compared to the plain old dog smell. 4. This shampoo did keep my dog's fur moisturized, silky, and shiny. Negatives... 1. The mixed scent of wet dog and this shampoo DURING the bath was not pleasant, but I think that could happen with any other shampoo just as easily. So, I would say if you have a dog in need of a bath and you want to use a nice shampoo that is somewhat cheap, easy to get, AND good for your dog's fur, do purchase this product and try it out. when I first got my dog she had terribly dry fur and she shedded a bunch.  I tried a store brand shampoo for shed control but it didn't work at all.  I came across the Hartz brand oatmeal shampoo with conditioners and it worked great.  Her coat is soft and so shiny I can hardly resist petting her.  It has a very clean and fresh scent.  I would recommend this to all dog lovers who like to keep their dog in the house without the worry of dog hair on all the furniture.  There is still a little shedding but is very minimal.  It is also made by a brand that I trust and believe in.  It comes in a bottle easy to use too.  It is very neat to use and will not spill if accidentally knocked over.  I would go out of my way to find this product.  So if you are a dog lover as I am,  give this shampoo a try.  It is also very reasonbly priced and lasts a long time.  I am definetly sold on this dog shampoo.
