I think this product works fine to protect you dog against fleas. I use it every month on my Bichon who is about fifteen pounds and I like that it is a liquid unlike the flea collars. I have four young children including a ten month old baby and the though of using a collar on my dog that my baby could touch and even possibly get off and put in his mouth is not a good idea to me. The liquid goes on and within a day or two I bathe my dog to remove any residue. It seems to work because my dog does not have any issues with fleas. He seems to be fine with the product and does not have a skin reaction or anything else negative. It does not smell bad and works to make sure your dog is protected against the problems associated with flea infestation. It also prevents the flea eggs from being laid on your pet and prevents mosquito bites as well. This is the way to go to protect your dog against fleas.

I bought this product at the grocery store because my dog had flees and it only made the situation worse; there seemed to be even more flees afterwards. In addition, my dog hated it and it left a greasy mark all the way down his back. I took him to the groomers to get him cleaned up and the owner of the store said he would never recommend it to anyone. He gave me Advantix, I tried it, and it works so much better. There is not a greasy mark at all or anything, and it was effective by getting the fleas away. After seeing how well the Advantix worked I threw away the Hartz right away, even though I still had 2 more left there was no point in keeping it since it did more damage than good. I was miserable with all of the fleas and Hartz was no help at all. From now on, I will look around and check out Viewpoints before I buy another questionable product again. Save your money and do not buy this product!

This is a call for an all out bouycot against this company!!! Of the other (4) reviews on this site that I viewd I noticed another person had the same problem that I did. That is a 20 percentile that have this company's products almost kill their pet! Unacceptable. I purchased this product after our twelve year old border collie, who weighs approximately 40 pounds, began straching in the summer. I gave her a bath and the next day went and purchased this god-forsaken product from Wal-Mart. Thinking all is well I put it on her. Then I proceeded to take a shower as my family and I were set to take a road trip that afternoon. During the coarse of my shower I was distrubed by a large thud on the bathroom floor! I look out and see our dog with her eyes rolled back laying spread eagle on her stomach and confulsing. One of the most terrifying sights I have ever witnessed! She would recover and then do it again ever couple of minutes. I realized the only thing that had changed it I treated her with a HARTZ product. I quickly rinsed her off and rushed to the vet with her have seizurses ever minute or couple of minutes! After telling the vet exactly what had happened he informed me that I would be very suprised at how much money he makes from people using specifically Hartz brand product and this is very common and has killed a number of his patients. In all she had well over 30 siezures and scared the bejesus out of me and her. Do your pets a favor, DON'T USE HARTZ, seek a natural treatment plan for your loved ones!!!!!!

                                                                                                                                                                We tried Hartz Flea and Tick control on our cat and it seemed to work, but after a week or two our cat got sick.  When we brought him to the vet, they said that some Flea and Tick Control products, like Hartz, can build up on your pet and can hurt them.      We thought it would be a good idea to use Hartz Flea and Tick Control, because it was a little cheaper then Frontline and the other brands.  After the vet bill, it turns out that Hartz was more expensive in the long run.      Frontline is a better product and many vets sell it.
