My dog simply cannot get enough of crunchy biscuits so I figured I'd kill two birds with one stone and feed her a treat that keeps her teeth clean and healthy. These were certainly a hit with her and she definitely enjoyed the flavor and the crunch! These are much thicker than usual biscuits. Other brands can be broken in half easily but these really require a bit of work and a great deal of pressure to get them to break which means that if you're used to feeding half a biscuit at a time then you may have to rethink that as I did. What concerns me about the product is in addition to the multiple flavor enhancers and preservatives they contain not one but three added colors as well (Yellow Lake #5, Blue Lake #1 and Red Lake #40). The addition of sugar and dried molasses was also not particularly comforting. Neither was the fact that salt appears as the seventh ingredient. These are in no way all natural or organic! Overall though, these are a good treat and if fed in moderation I feel comfortable giving them to my dog.

I have given my Golden Retriever a couple different brands of dental chews and biscuits now, and they have all been quite effective, but the other brands have all been pretty expensive. So when I was out shopping to pick up another package of dental chews I saw these, the Hartz Crunch 'n Clean Dog Biscuits, and they were quite a bit cheaper than the other brands. My dog absolutely loves the taste of these! I generally give him one daily and I feel that it does make a difference in his teeth. The only downside to this product though is the ingredients. They have several additives that I do not particularly like feeding my dog. Specifically colorings and excess sugar. Other than these additives I think this is a great product for the price and I would definitely recommend this product to everyone looking for a cheaper, but still affective, alternative to some of the mainstream dental chews and biscuits.

The Bottom Line: Hartz Crunch 'n Clean Dog Biscuits are a fantastic addition to my dog's dental care. I brush my dog's teeth regularly, as well as supplement her diet with two of these biscuits every day. They are nutritious, super crunchy, and my girl loves them! Every since I had my dog's teeth cleaned about 5 years ago, I swore I would not put her through it again and decided to take extra caution with her dental hygiene. I brush her teeth every other day, and give her various types of dental treats, and these Hartz biscuits have become part of the routine. My dog loves the taste and the crunch and they really make her work for it, and help slow down tartar build up. My girl is not a picky eater but she also has turned down treats before, but never this one. I like the size of the treats (I buy the "Medium" variety) and the flavor options. I really think this product is one of the better options as far as dental treats goes (along with Dentastix). It has helped keep my dog's breath neutral and her teeth and gums healthy. You do need to be aware of the calorie count for these treats though. I used to buy the Large size, which has 170 calorie per biscuit, and I did not realize I was feeding my dog too many calories per day with those extra treats and she put on weight. I switched to the Medium size, which has 50 calories and is much more manageable for her, especially being an older dog. Quality of Ingredients I have purchased a great many different types of treats for my dogs, and these Hartz Crunch 'n Clean Dog Biscuits are some of the most nutritious, vitamin wise, I have ever seen. It has: Zinc, Vitamin B12, iron, choline (for brain functions), copper (heart and immune system), Votain E, Calcium, iodine (metabolic functions), Folic acid, Vitamin B6, Vitamin D3, Thiamine (helps turn carbs into energy), riboflavin, manganese (helps break down fats, carbs and protein). Also, the tartar fighting Dantashield sets this product apart because it will really help with your dog's breath and will slow down tartar build up over time. The only negative points I will give this treat is for the fact that it does contain color additives (yellow lake 5, blue lake 1, red lake 40), for the variety of flavor kind. I know it helps tell the difference between flavors but I would much rather not have added color at all, it is never necessary.

My dogs like these things,and they will eat them, but do not expect these to be a great cleaning product for your dogs teeth. Our vet told us they don't do a whole lot, but might freshen breath a bit. You need to actually brush your dogs teeth if you want to keep good oral health and there really is no substitute for this.

I love these Hartz crunch and clean dog biscuits medium size for use when I babysit dogs. They are wonderful treats that have not just one purpose but two! They are nutritous, healthy and clean your dogs teeth all at once! How can you beat something like that three in one benefits for your dog. They are also great quality when it comes to the ingredients they put in their products and I trust their ingredients to be very healthy for my dogs that I watch. I dont know of any side effects of these crunch and clean dog biscuits. I use them for when I babysit and give the dogs a treat when they come in from outside or when they need something to keep them busy for a little while and they love these bones. I always get the dogs begging for more and they are fun sized really not that big so I can give them a few instead of just one and keeps them happy! I would reccommend these to anyone with a dog to give as a tasty treat!

This week while shopping for treats for my dogs, I came across a box of Hartz Crunch 'n Clean biscuts. They are not only treats for your dog, but they also help keep their teeth clean. The crunchy biscuts help with removing tartar and cleans teeth, and the Denta shield in the biscuts blocks any new tartar from forming, and there are also breath freshening crystals in the biscuts. The biscuts come in 3 flavors, beef, chicken, and bacon...my dogs love all three flavors. I am so far impressed, my dogs jump at the chance to have their treat now, and it helps keep their teeth clean. You can buy different size biscuts also, small, med and large.

I recently bought a box of these as my older dog has some buid-up on her teeth. These must not even smell good to the dogs because they wouldn't even take it from my hand like they do with regular dog bones. I put them on the floor and they still won't touch them. My one dog finally tried it after I played a game of keep-away with it. But it was very hard to chew and he left half of it. My other dog took her's and hid it in the living room behind the chair. I ended up throwing the box out.

These dog biscuits are amazing.Every dog I have owned has needed their teeth cleaned at some point in time.So when Hartz came out with these Crunch n Clean biscuits that remove tartar and puts up a dental shield to block future tartar from building up I had to try them.Other dog treats have clamed this but I never saw any significant results.These are the only biscuits I feed my dog now.Our last trip to the vet she looked at his teeth and with a puzzled expression asked if I had been brushing his teeth regularly!They are very white and shiny for a four year old Basset Hound.And we didn't have to sacrafice taste for these biscuits either.My dog loves them.He looks forward to his morning treat and his bed time treat very much.In fact we catch him many times a day staring up at where we keep them.His way of asking for more.They also really help to keep his breath fresh.This truely has to be the next best thing to actual brushing!

My two year old pit bull does not have terrible oral health, however, it is not the best, so when she ran out of her normal brand of dog treats recently, I figured that it would be a smart idea to get dog treats that did something for her teeth. I chose Hartz Crunch n Clean Biscuits. The price was affordable and fair. However, for being "medium" sized, they do seem a little bit on the smaller side. My dog eats the treats, but when I toss one of them to her, she is not quite as enthused as she normally is when dog biscuits of other brands. This is kind of disappointing because it's not a treat if the dog doesn't really, really enjoy it, in my opinion. On the brighter side of things, it could just be my imagination, but it seems as though my dog's breath does not smell so bad after feeding time when I give her a Crunch n Clean dog biscuit afterwards and a box of these biscuits is fairly inexpensive, so I cannot complain too much.
