Hartz caused my senior Chihuahua to have a seizure

I didn't have time recently to go by my vets office before they closed and pick up flea control for "my girls" (I have 5 dogs).  So, while out and about on the weekend picked up Hartz flea control at Walmart and administered the appropirate dose/amount/size to each of my girls.  The next day my 17 year old Chihuahua had a seizure.  I found out that it was caused by the Hartz flea control.  They had me take her home immediately and wash her with Dawn or Ivory liquid to get the topical sliminess off of her.  I was on pins and needles all that evening and prepared to take her into the emergency vets if she had another seizure.  Fortunately the washing seemed to do the trick and she didn't suffer any more.  I will stock up on FrontLine or Advantage from now on and not buy the "over the counter" stuff ever again.
