I love Harry Potter and always have. This one is one of my favorite becouse not only is Harry older but he gets to meet his uncle. Even though everything that is said about him is negative. Harry comes to find out the truth and becomes close to his uncle and realises he has family and he is not alone.
I even liked the idea that Voldemort is not in it but is mentioned. When you keep bringiing back the bad guy he tends to get old and you just want the conflict to get over with. So letting him stay back out of the picture and is only mentioned is a good way to keep him in the picture wihtout over doing it.
