Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix Review

As a fan of the Harry Potter series of books, I was very happy to see Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix Movie available for free through our cable company.  I was happy to watch it that first time and I've watched it several times since then.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix follows Harry, his best friends, and The Order of the Phoenix as they diligently work to fight Voldemort and his Death Eaters.  Because the Ministry of Magic gets involved with Hogwarts and refuses to allow the students to actually practice defensive magic, Harry and his friends form "Dumbledore's Army" which is an organization to teach young wizards spells that will help them in possible future encounters with Death Eaters.

The actress who plays Luna Lovegood is incredible! She IS Luna Lovegood and a delight to watch after some of the other wooden performances in the film.  The Weasley Twins have also taken a front-seat in this film, though their big scene probably deserved about 5 times what it was alotted in the movie.  All in all, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is a very good adaptation of the book.  Yes there are some wonderful scenes left out (I really wanted to see Mrs. Black scream at Harry, Ron, and Hermione), but it does hit most of the main and most interesting parts of the story.

I really like the film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.  It is mostly true to the book, though it presents Headmaster Dumbledore as angry and aloof most of the time.  I really enjoy this movie and would recommend it to any Harry Potter fan who hasn't yet seen it.
