Harper's Bazaar Magaine:
I have a subscription to this magazine, but before I had the subscription I purchased it occasionally. I am glad my subscription did not cost me money (I purchased it through redemption points in a program I enrolled in).
I enjoy the monthly features of how to dress your age (20s, 30, - 60s) and the "What to Buy, What to Keep, and What to Store" list.
Maybe my taste is not quite trendy enough for the magazine, but I think most of the ads in there would not even tempt Hollywood (unless it's someone desperate like Lindsay Lohan or one those other "must have attention" types). Many of the articles focus on how to dress for less or how to stay on budget, but how is someone supposed to spend $1,000 on an outfit to wear to the office? That doesn't seem like dressing for less to me. Who has and extra $1,300 to splurge on a "key item" like a bag that will not be in style next year even if it is a classic?!
If a magazine is really going to try to sell themselves as high fashion, then do it. Don't pretend you are Family Circle and then put huge price tags on the "budget" pieces. Excess is overrated in our country.
The magazine is fun to flip through but I wouldn't spend money on it every month.
