Harmony Kids Micro Club Chair —

My two year old loves two things: books and chairs. She is more than happy to sit in a chair or on a couch and read an endless amount of books. When her birthday rolled around, we realized that it would be appropriate to find her a chair that was just her size. After trying on the in-store options at Toys R Us and Target and finding nothing, we turned to the Internet and found just what we needed - Harmony Kids' Micro Club Chair and Ottoman

The Chair

Glance at it on a website and you'll fall in love. It's adorable, looks soft and cuddles and appears just the perfect fit for your little princess. In reality, that's exactly what it is - it's an upholstered chair with an upholstered ottoman that is available in seven colors (yellow, green, purple, pink, navy, chocolate and beige).

You can find it available at several online stores, but the best prices and selection we found was at www.toysrus.com.

The Pros

This chair really is the entire package. It's very light compared to what you may think it will weigh, and the color is vibrant but not obnoxious. It fits easily into any bedroom. This chair is soft but durable and can be used up until the age of 6 or 7.

One important thing to note is that you don't have to assemble anything. It's nearly impossible to tip over, and it's sturdy enough to hold a two year old and her four year old brother. Our daughter is very short for her age and although this is meant for slightly taller kids, she has no problems crawling into it.

Another thing you'll notice is just how soft it really is. I think if they made one, I would want an adult sized version for my own bedroom! My daughter loves to crawl into the chair with a book or two and a blanket each night after bath time. She just loves this chair.

The little features you get with this chair really make it incredible. For me, the winning features include:

1) Age range - most chairs you find on the shelves at Target or Toys R Us will be outgrown easily by the age of 3, even younger if you have a larger child. This chair really accommodates a larger age range

2) Details - it includes two side pockets for books and small, attachable legs for both the chair and the ottoman. These details really set it apart from similar chairs.

The Cons

Honestly, this chair is pricey. At nearly $100, it will cost more than $120 total to buy and ship this chair to your house. In addition to this, the shipping takes time. If you really are interested in purchasing this chair, be mindful that you will need at least 2-3 weeks between placing your order and picking it up.

Another problem I have is that the color of the trim is a bit off. The trim, at least on the pink chair, is not pure white. It's off white. This issue may or may not bother you, but it is something that clashes with our daughter's room color.

You will have to attach the small, wooden legs to the chair and ottoman yourself, but it is not a huge project and can be completed in less than 30 minutes.

Summary

If you have the budget for it and a book loving toddler, you really can't go wrong with this chair. I looked high and low for a chair, including toddler chairs that ranged to more than $400, and this chair wins hands down. Once you set it up, you're going to see it used day in and day out.
