I've owned one since 2007, and have ridden both local and cross country trips. Beautiful ride, great balance, wonderful power, great looks, and no problems to date at 10,000 miles. Gets comments and stares everywhere you go.
The one complaint I have, is that Harley should know that changing out OEM parts for after market is a given for many, if not most riders. The most common changeovers being air cleaners, pipes, and seats.
On the Deluxe, the riders seat has a beautiful vintage look grab rail running around the back of the seat. Unfortunately, H.D. designed it so that the rail is bolted to the seat itself, making it difficult to go with an after market seat without losing the rail.
If you customize the existing seat in order to keep the rail, you can't remove the skirt without the ugly bolts which attach the rail to the seat, showing.
With a little ingenuity, it can be got around but Harley should have thought of that.
