Harley-Davidson Road King Classic - 2009 Motorcycle —

I went to Bikeweek in Daytona this last weekend and had no plans at all to purchase a new bike. For the last year I have been riding a Honda VTX 1300 R and have been very pleased with it. I was just looking around and bike and came across the 09 Road King in Gold Flake Pearl/Pewter. I immediately fell in love with the looks. The salesman came up to me and made me an offer and couldn't refuse and ended up riding it out the door that friday night. My plan was to stay at Bikeweek until Sunday.....but I just couldn't wait to get that bike out on the road. I rode most of the day saturday around Daytona and then decided to ride it back home that night. I made the 200 mile trip across the state and it was like being in heaven on 2 wheels. The only negative I have about the bike is the stock seat is a little tall for my small 5'9" frame and my feet barely touch the ground. I will have to have it lowered or purchase a lower profile seat. After the ride home, I didn't have that sore back that my Honda gave me. I absolutely LOVE this bike and it will be with me for a LONG time!!!!!!!

Well i also bought a road king. If you go with the drop the shock set up, get ready to have problems with your bags. Simply .. they won't fit back on. First thing I did was get new handle bars. and shorter shocks. Then a seat that's not so wide.. and last I put new heels on my old boots

I bought a Sundowner seat for the RKC from Harley. It is a little lower and may fit you better. Also I put on the heritage-type bars out of the Harley catalog and they come back about 3" closer than the stock bars making it a much better riding position. Hope you enjoy your King!
