Harley-Davidson Men's Classic Cruiser Leather Jacket

One thing that's fun about riding a motorcycle is you get to accessorize! Once I had my Softail Harley, I needed a new jacket, boots, gloves, and helmet, as protective gear, of course.

I first bought a black leather jacket with an eagle on the back, just like the song, but I kept my eye out for one of these and sprang on it like a cat on a canary the moment I saw one in my size.

This is the Classic Cruiser Jacket from the Harley-Davidson line of riding wear. These jackets do not come cheap, but you will not find a jacket made of nicer, more supple leather and with the level of workmanship that these Harley jackets have. Harley goes to the best manufacturers for their riding gear and this jacket is as nice as any leather you can buy anywhere.

The jacket is made of midweight leather with a mandarin collar and zippered sleeves. It is pieced together out of orange, white, and black pieces to make a very stunning appearance. It is not thuggish by any means, but it is not a geek snowmobile jacket, either. It is just a super cool motorcycle jacket that you will enjoy the heck out of wearing. People will know you are a Harley rider from a block away as they see the bold block letters emblazoned across your chest: HARLEY-DAVIDSON motorcycles.

In similar fashion, each sleeve is appliqued with bold block letters, one says HARLEY-DAVIDSON and the other says MOTORCYCLES. There is a patch on each shoulder one of each with a Harley bar and shield logo and and oval with "The World's Greatest Sport" and Harley wings inscribed within. The back of the jacket has a large block HARLEY-DAVIDSON MOTORCYCLES and within the enclosure formed by the letters, a large pair of silver Harley wings with another large Harley bar and shield logo within. The patches - I called them patches but they are really appliqued - sewn right into the jacket, in other words a part of it. The detailing, in black, white, silver, and orange is fantastic and I feel the jacket is worth more than I paid.

The construction of the jacket of midweight leather means it is for warmer weather so I'm wearing it now and have put my heavier black eagle jacket away until the fall.

The jacket has a channel venting system to distribute air flow to cool the core body temperature. Body armor pockets (your elbows and forearms are internally armored for protection) action back, zippered cuffs with snap and slightly pre-curved sleeves. Adjustable snap tabs at waist. Two zippered hand-warmer pockets and two inside pockets. Custom hardware - each zipper and button is stamped with H-D logos.

The jacket has a fixed poly lining and removable quilted vest lining for cooler temperatures. There are several pockets and an inside pocket, each zippered for security.

This is a very well engineered jacket from an ergonomic standpoint and also it looks dynamite. Harley has really come up with a winner in their Classic Cruiser Leather Jacket.
