I like to snack. Sometimes I crave cookies or Doritos or even chocolate but when I'm really looking for something satisfying I go for gummy candy. I love the taste but also that it takes a lot of chewing to get thru the process. This takes longer then gobbling a bowl of chips but it makes the snack last longer and that's really satisfying for me.
I've always been a big fan of gummy bears. When my uncle lived in Germany he sent me a giant one like in the original Willy Wonka movie and I ate myself sick on that thing. Gummy bears are still a great fruity, chewy snack but the chewy candy I really crave is Happy Cola gummy candy.
They're made by Haribo (the same people who brought us the classic gummy bear) and taste like Coca Cola! They are shaped like tiny Coke bottles. The top half is clear-ish and the bottom half is cola colored so they look like tiny, Coke bottles half filled with cola (or half empty depending on your personality).
And do they taste good! Just like yummy cola that's really chewy and not fizzy. It's a unique change from fruity tasting snacks and the shape is irresistably cute. My husband even sneaks a few from the bag now and then and he's not a big fan of gummy candy.
They can be a bit hard to find so if you cannot find them in your local area they can be ordered on Amazon.com and elsewhere online. I get mine at World Market or my local grocery store.
5 stars - a chewy, tasty, cute and satisfying treat that's fairly inexpensive (under $2 for a few ounces).
