Last year we started our family tradition of going out to the movies on the Fourth of July.  Our first year doing this we saw Transformers and we all loved it.  This year we chose Hancock and loved it!!

Will Smith stars as a superhero gone bad.  He does a great job in portraying Hancock!  This film is full of great one liners!  It's a film for older children up to adults.  My daughter is just shy of being 11 and liked it.  (Yes, it does have some profanity.)

About the movie:

As most of the reviews state, "there are heroes... there are superheroes... and then there's Hancock."  Hancock certainly is unique.  As bad as he is, he is very likable.   Hancock is certainly edgy, conflicted, sarcastic, and misunderstood.  His well-intentioned heroics gets the job done (saves lives), but he always seems to leave total jaw-dropping damage everywhere he goes! Hancock isn't the kind of man who cares what other people think - until the day that he saves the life of Public Relations executive Ray Embrey (Jason Bateman, who does a fantastic job in his character), and the superhero shows us that he may have a vulnerable side after all. Facing that will be Hancock's greatest challenge yet.  Hancock also stars Charlize Theron (Ray's wife).   Ms. Theron also has a few sides of her own.

Hancock is a guy who can fly, who has super strength, and whose body is impervious to harm.  What more can you ask for right?  Wrong!  LOL !!  Hancock is unlike nothing you've seen before and is full of surprises ~

We (as well as the rest of the theater) laughed a lot during this film so I'm giving it 5 stars!

You're welcome. We keep talking about this movie at home and how we really did like it. I haven't met anyone that told me they didn't like it. It's sooo different and that made me like it even more.

I am in total agreement. This is a kind of off the wall story, and an off the wall hero, and Will Smith really pulls it off well...the guy has some true depth as an actor. This seemed almost a Johnny Depp style role

I want to see Get Smart as well. I am partial to The Rock!

The plan was to see this today, showed up too late and saw Get Smart. We do movies on Thanksgiving day, with grandpa and grandma giving this busy mom time to cook.
