Hamster Ball Derby - Petco - Memphis, TN —

My family is getting ready for our third time to attend the Petco/Kaytee Hamster Ball Derby. This is especially fun for families with small children. The hamsters have a fine time "racing" on tracks in their balls, and the children enjoy cheering them on. These little guys can really run when they put their mind to it!

I have always found the staff at Petco as very knowlegable about the animals, and they use this opportunity to teach the children about how to care for their small friends. They also will have different pet rescue agencies on hand to promote pet adoptions for animals with no homes, and provide information on spaying and neutering pets. It's a fine combination of fun and public service.
