Hampton Inn - Macon, GA Review

Well, the Xenos are on the road this week.  We're taking our annual trek to the mountains of western Georgia.  For the next four weeks it's camp for our daughter and an empty nest for her parents.

This year, on the way, we've decided to take in the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta before making our way to camp on Monday morning.  We decided to stay over in Macon overnight, so here we are.

Seems we always choose to stay in a Hampton Inn when we're traveling to a destination.  We've found them to be dependable for offering a consistent level of quality and a nice suite of features.

This particular Hampton Inn in Macon, is just off the highway, near some incredible shopping (a couple of Malls), and a decent assortment of family restaurants.

Although it appears to be of an older design, it shows the signs of a recent total renovation.  All the rooms and facilities look recently overhauled (in a good sense).

Of course this property offers the Cloud Nine Bed by Serta.  A nice touch.  After a full day of driving a comfortable bed is just what I'm looking for.  If you enjoy this bed, it can actually be purchased through their web-site.

Each room also has a mini-fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, hair dryer and an iron and ironining board.

The television system is cable with two HBO channels.  For an additional charge a wide variety of movies and video games are available

If you're going to be in the Macon area for a day or two, this is a quality place to stay and it's pretty gentle on the budget.

On to the Aquarium.  I'll let you know what we think in another report.
