This slow cooker comes with 3 crocks that nest. It has three heat settings (warm, low and high) and a selector button for the 2, 4 and 6 qt crocks. I received this as a gift (which I picked out myself) and have used it 3 times now (once using each size crock). So far I have no complaints, but one small concern. The 6 qt crock does not touch the sides of the heating unit. I wonder if the heating unit only heats up on the bottom when this crock is selected or if there is significant heat loss? I have used high heat once and low heat twice. Both times my dishes came out as expected. There was one thing they didn't mention in the instruction book that I am curious about. There is a small grommetted hole in the glass lid.
