Hamilton Beach SmartToast 4-Slice Toaster

We've gone through at least 5 toasters over the last few years so first off let me say that the prices they charge for toasters is rediculous. This is not rocket science people, it's a (mostly) simple box to make bread warm and toasty for heavens' sake. All we want is a toaster that doesn't stop working after 6 months or less, pops the toast up when it's done, doesn't burn it to oblivion and looks half decent on the counter in the process, is this too much to ask?

Alright so I'll stop complaining for a while and tell you that so far this Hamilton Beach SmartToast 4-Slice Toaster is holding up pretty well. It does pop the toast up rather briskly but at least it pops up lol. It has four nice wide 1.5 inch slots to accomodate thicker bread slices, bagels or pastry tarts. It heats and toasts evenly ON BOTH SIDES and has separate dial features on the front so you can control how you like your bread done. It has a reset / cancel button should something get stuck inside but, so far that hasn't happend (yet)?.

There are separate crumb trays located on the bottom under each of the slots, they're easy to clean and slide back in with no problems.  I chose the brushed chrome finish with black details as it matches my kitchen appliances perfectly and it DOES look nice on the counter :) Overall measurements are 8.5 "x 14" x 14" x9.9 " and it doesn't  take up too much real estate like some others we've had.

All in all, this $29.99 (on sale at Target at the time) toaster has lasted longer than ones we've had in the past, we'll be throwing a birthday party for it soon as our little beauty will be a year old next month, sniff sniff I'm choking back tears of joy. All are invited, we'll be serving pop tarts, bagels and of course TOAST !!
