Hamilton Beach is one grat company to their customers. After my BrewStation 47424 blew up the day before the warranty was up, they replaced it with the 47454.
I love the BrewStation with no glass carafes to break or be washed. My biggest beef with the other 2 models over 4 years I've had them, was the hard to read clock which has almost impossible to read AM/PM. Now the 47454 has a large blue background black print clock that even my Congo African Grey parrot could program. It is a sleek shaped unit that is very eye appealing. Not the big black structure on the table. I have filtered water from the basement, so their tiny water filter was not used. But a nice idea but it looks like a tea brewer. Only a year warranty on the product which AMEX doubles & these coffeemakers don't last 2 years, but HB will replace it after 2 week wait to return the broken one & wait for delivery of the new one. This time it was well worth the wait.
I find the assembly much better than the old models, the basket for the gold filter, I buy to brew the beans in, fits nicely & easy to get out & back in. The water pitcher has a large handle in the back for easy grabbing to fill with filtered water from the AMANA fridge. Easy to pour water into the 2 reservoirs & snap back into place with the lid. I love brewing coffee at 5AM for us to wake up when we smell it. Better than any alarm clock. This is one easy way to get it done. Just push the program button for 3 seconds & it blinks & then program the time to brew. Easily done as it is so easy to read.
I have easily filled mugs, a travel mug, a beer stein which I use as my coffee mug since I go thru 2 pots a day and even a serving carafe for when I want to empress lady friends. Cleans very easily also with a great spray from the faucet with a squirt of soap in it.
Very nice upgrade thanks to HB for my $50 47424 to this $80 model. But they finally got it right with easy to read clock & easy to assemble refilling system. So I applaud them on this great new BrewStation which is very pretty on my 2 seater glass topped table.
This make one great cup of coffee & even after 4 hours on warm, which is one hot cup after 3.75 hours, it is not bitter tasting or burnt! So I love my good coffee & this brews it perfectly.
It even makes iced coffee, can be used to brew hot tea or iced tea. One very neat item for the kitchen!!!!
