Hamilton Beach 62680R Hand Mixer

4

I love my Hamilton Beach Hand Mixer 62680R even though I am not big on baking. Being a single male I probably only use my mixer three or four times a year, but when the baking mood strikes, I break this little puppy out and go to town. It has 6 handy speeds, is easy to grip, a bowl resting stabilizer to work hands free, and even a quick burst button for when you are mixing something of a little thicker consistency. Clean up is easy, just push a button and the beaters pop out. They are chrome-plated, so clean up is a breeze. But the thing I love the most about it is the ease of storage. It doesn't take up any counter space, because when I am done with it, I simply place it back in its original box, put it under the counter, and forget about it until I need to use it again. This is an awesome little out-of-the-way mixer. I would recommend one to any infrequent baker, though probably not enough power for someone who spends most of their time in the kitchen and bakes on a regular basis.

Hamilton Beach 6 Speed Hand Mixer

5

The Hamilton Beach 6 Speed Hand Mixer is great. I love it. What happens to be better at making memories than having the kids lick the beaters clean of frosting or cookie dough. It isn't as powerful as the stand mixers, but it is very modestly priced and doesn't take up hardly any counter space. Counter space is a big deal to me, as I don't have a lot of it, so if a prodduct can offer me results without the need to clutter my counters, well it deserves an "A" in my book. Additionally, the price is right. on't get me wrong, I love the stand mixers, they are wonderful, but I make due just fine with my hand mixer and a little bit of elbow grease. Clean up is very easy, once the kids are done licking the beaters, I pop them in the dishwasher.

My Hamilton Beach 6 Speed Quick Burst is awesome!!

When it was time to replace my old mixer, there was a lot to consider. I dont like the idea of a stand mixer, I dont want something large that I have to keep on my counter, or take up half a cabinet to store. I wanted something simple, but powerful enough to whip my mashed potatoes or the quick cake mix. I'm not a bread maker, so, I didnt need something with a zillion attachments or enough power to mix paint. Just a nice electric hand mixer. When I went shopping, I was amazed at the choices. The basic model that was cheap, but would probably wuss out on a big bowl of mashed potatoes, or, of course the magnificent looking stand mixers that look like the front of a Betty Crocker Cook Book. I selected my Hamilton Beach 6 speed quick burst because it looked like it would fit all my mixing needs. Its easy to use, not too heavy, and mixes like a dream. Once the potatoes are all mashed up, put it on high, and it makes them taste like whip cream. I highly recommend the Hamilton Beach 6 Speed Quick Burst.

Did it's job!

I thought this one seemed like a good fit for me as it has the snap on case that holds the attachments (the two beaters and I loved the WHISK!) and you can easily tuck away the cord and keep everything all nice and tidy without losing the pieces!   I had a previous handmixer that broke the first time I used it on a boxed cake mix.  BOXED CAKE MIX!!! What the heck?  Ok, call me lazy, but I want whip these together lightening quick but don't want to tire out my hand.  So whatever.  LOL.  I decided to test this new mixer out with a new recipe, Gluten Free Crepes. I used the whisk attachment and on the lowest speed setting, the speed was there and you can definitely feel the power of the mixer and that tells me, the next time I bake a cake, this bad boy isn't falling apart! I am overall happy wtih this hand mixer.  It's not anything to run home about and scream what a great find but like I said, in the title, this does it's job and I am not complaining!

This strong mixer has way too much power on low speed!

I like the mixer's power, however, the lowest speed it has runs like a speeding locomotive.  It is difficult to begin mixing dry and wet ingredients together, because the dry ingredients will fly out of the bowl on account of the fast blending.

Hamilton Beach mixers are great for light kitchen use

3

I have a heavy duty mixer at home, but I often find myself using the Hamilton Beach handheld mixer for lighter duty things in the kitchen for several reasons. It is easier to clean than the bowl and mixing attachments for my heavy duty mixer. It is easy to pull out and put away. I can monitor the progress of things like meringues because there is no lid or big machine part over the bowl, and I can use the beaters to scrape the sides of the bowl. These mixers are great for light use such as meringues, puddings, cake mix, etcetera. I would never use these mixers on cookie dough or thick bread dough because they burn out so easily. Thankfully these mixers are very affordable and easy to replace if you do burn them out.  My husband killed our first Hamilton Beach mixer making a batch of snicker doodles because he didn't believe me that they burn out.  If you do a lot of heavy cooking or baking, it is probably worth the investment to buy a heavy duty mixer like Bosch or Kitchen-Aid.
