Hamilton Beach 54615 Wavestation Express Dispensing Blender Review

My seven year old son wanted a Smoothie Maker, so I went out in search of a product that would be simple enough that he could help make the Smoothies.  I found Hamilton Beach's 54615 at Walmart, and was immediately drawn to it because of the dispenser spout.  With this product, I'm able to easily whip up smoothies, milkshakes, iced beverages, and then serve them right out of the container.

It's lightweight and slender enough that it stores easily.  It's black, so it goes with any decor.  The lid and base are made of plastic, which is great because I don't have to worry about it dropping and breaking.  It's all dishwasher safe, including the blade, so it makes clean up a snap.  It comes with a three year warranty too!

There are different settings depending on what you want to do with the machine.  The knob is located on the side, and include:

• pulse
• dispense
• smoothie
• milkshake
• icy drink

We haven't made an icy drink, but we have crushed ice with the machine and it does a very good job.  Typically we use it to make the smoothies, and they turn out great.  The dispense option works best with beverages that aren't too thick, but it's a very handy feature to have.  My son likes it because he can dispense it himself.

I'd recommend this product to anyone that likes making their own health drinks, or smoothies, or even alcoholic beverages.  It's very easy to use, easy to clean up, and is very reasonably priced.
