Customizing toaster.

I love the settings on this toaster. It has a special setting just for bagels which come out perfect. Not too stiff.Still a little chewy and airy. There's a tray which slides out from the bottom that catches crumbs. Not sure I've ever seen this on a toaster before. It's neat and keeps the counters tidy and makes cleaning up after simpler. The slots are wide which accommodates to many types of bread.I use the more natural brands and it always fits perfectly. It also has a defrost option.I cook garlic bread with this option.Tastes way better than the conventional oven. The outside of it doesn't get hot while it's on.Even for an extended period of time. There's a feature called Toast Boost which keeps the bagels, toast, etc hot and crispy until you get ready to eat them. There are settings for various levels of browning.I love this feature especially. You can really customize your bread with this.

Good but

Very happy with this toaster. Easy to control degree of toasting. Good consistent burning each time and doesn't vary. Good for daily use. Toasting Evenness Toasting evenness is very good and consistent. Have not burned toast yet. Good on bread and bagels. Safety The lever has a feature where you can lift the hot toast up higher than it was when you put it in so you don't touch the hot toaster when pulling the toast out and burn your fingers. Ease of Cleaning The best feature is the slide out crumb tray. It makes cleaning the crumbs a lot simpler than turning it upside down and shaking them out. Easy to pull out and replace. Fingerprints wipe off easily. Durability High durability, stainless steel hasn't been dented despite hard handling. Design Nice high quality smooth stainless steel looks great on the counter. Looks modern and expensive. Buttons blend in well. Toast slots are big enough for big bagels. Lever stays down rather than popping back up like most toasters.

Good performing and attractive looking basic toaster.

Perhaps anything would have been better than this toasters predecessor which I owned which would decide on it's own whether to toast, not toast, or simply burn the bread. Seriously, I you are looking for a reasonably priced toaster which is functional and attractive you should consider this model. It functions well and has an attractive black and chrome finish. Toasting Evenness I can't judge by store bought bread as I bake all of my own and this perhaps influences my rating on evenness. Sometimes slices come out with dark and or light sections., but then again my slicing may be a tad bit lesst than perfect. Safety The toaster has several good safety features: 1) the sides though chrome metal have a "cool touch" due to the toasters' insulation. 2) a cord which is long enough to provide for safe placement on a counter top, and 3) a cancel feature Ease of Cleaning Easy clean from the toaster bottom. The chrome finish wipes clean and has a nice shiny appearance. Durability The toaster handle, cancel button, and toast level selector are sturdy. The heating elements appear to be well constructed. Design The black plastic with the chrome exterior is very attractive and practical. The cancel button to remove jammed toast works fairly well. The toast selector knob is well placed and is a good size.

Love this toaster!

I love that this toaster has so many settings! It's actually difficult to overcook something with it, unless you forget to check what's selected before putting something in. I love that I can defrost bread without accidentally toasting it. I just put it on the lowest setting and it pops out a little warm and slightly crunchy but otherwise perfectly normal. It's very easy to gauge the temperature settings once you've used it for a little while. The only problem with this toaster is that it doesn't really spring the bread up very high, so smaller things can be really difficult to get out. Nothing's ever gotten stuck but I don't really enjoy trying to pull my bread out by the one corner I can reach. Otherwise it's a great buy. Toasting Evenness Sometimes one side is a little darker than the other. Safety I consider the fact that the springs don't pop up high enough a bit of a safety issue. Ease of Cleaning Easy to remove the crumb tray. Durability Has held up well so far. Design Apart from the springs, perfect design.

It's a toaster

There isn't much to say about this toaster. We bought it about a month ago. It is attractive and shiny, doesn't take up too much room and works well enough for our needs. We were using a microwave/ toaster combo before we bought this, so it took a little getting used to with two separate units instead of one. The buttons work fine and the toast comes out as toasty as it should at each setting. My only complaint is that the release button doesn't release the bread very well when I cancel the toast before its time is up. It's like the toast sticks about half way up and I have to push the button up to get the toast to come out. I hope that doesn't become a problem down the road- but for the price it isn't an issue- toaster like this are common and ordinary.

Durable

I received this toaster as house warming gift back in 09. The toaster has survived a few moves and constant use. I really thought within the year I would be needing a new one. I was so surprised that it has lasted for so long. There are days it gives me issues but nothing that can't be quickly fixed. It's never anything more than Toaster Sticks getting stuck. Normally if you jiggle the lever whatever is stuck will pop up. I also have noticed that over the years I have to push down harder on the lever to get it to stick. It may be because it is getting old but it is such a good toaster it doesn't bother me at all. Toasting Evenness Toasts evenly unless it needs to be cleaned out. Safety Never has sparked or anything. Ease of Cleaning It is a pain to clean sometimes.

Toasts large items just fine

5

I have this one and the Hamilton Beach Model 22790 and the ratings are the same for both as there are no differences. I'd recommend this toaster especially if you toast a variety of items and keep it out on the counter. Toasting Evenness The adjustments seem to be spot on. It toasts small slices of cinnamon bread and large bagels without burning. It isn't deep so need to turn over for complete even-ness on large pieces of bread. . Safety No problems with this at all. There's an indicator light on the control side which lets you know it's on. Ease of Cleaning This is the only downfall. The crumb-catcher is a small compartment on the bottom.Good that it holds the crumbs in well but you will forget to empty it out. The outside chrome wipes down nicely and is very shiny Durability Use it several times a day and it seems to be holding up just fine. Design It looks "pretty" for a toaster and I leave on the counter. The controlss are on the side of the unit, the settings are easy to see and the pop-up button is accessible. It's wide for a bagel but not deep, so you may have to turn over a large bakery slice of bread. This is annoying.

Not a bad little toaster

4

This toaster is extremely durable. I use it every single morning. I can tell when it needs a cleaning when the it starts to toast unevenly. I do have to fight with ever once in a while and the button doesn't want t go down the first time. Toasting Evenness Whether it's toast or egos it toasts it all over Safety It has never sparked on me. Ease of Cleaning I normally pull the tray out and dump out the crumbs. I have had to clean out the toaster over the trash and things do get stuck inside Durability I have had the toaster for 3years and it serves it's purpose well Design Doesn't take up a lot of room but I wish the lever it push the toast down would stay down the first push

Long Lasting

I received this toaster as a wedding gift almost 7 years ago and it's still doing the job. I love the appearance, the chrome and black exterior fits in well as a modern look to your kitchen. It has a very convenient crumb tray underneath the toaster that make cleaning it super easy. There are a good number of settings including toast, bagel, defrost, etc. Guessing at how dark your toast is going to be is confusing on this model. I've had it for 7 years and I still have a hard time remembering when I use it which direction to turn the knob to get it darker and I'm not a cooking dummie. This toaster is durable. I had it shipped across the country when we were moving and it actually came apart along the top from heat damage but it still worked fine.

Hamilton Beach toster

3

We recieved this toster as a wedding gift back in June of 2009. We didn't know of or have any thing specific in mind as far as tosters go. We just wanted something that would do the job. I like that it is two sided. It has held up quite well thus far. We primarily use it for english muffins and toast. I think it looks quite 'high end' or fancy if you will. Hides dirt well. The crumb tray is pretty neato. I should probably utelize it more often! We are a frugal minded family and that still applied when we were making our gift registry so this toaster is a good buy in that it's affordable and holds up, verses paying less for a cheaper model and then having to replace it more often. I think my only complaint would be that when it's done toasting it doesn't pop the items up 'high' enough so that you can pluck it out easier/faster. That could also be my issue and not the toasters!
