The 10 Speed Hamilton Beach blender is more bland than blend.

I got the Hamilton Beach 10 Speed blender as a birthday present, oddly enough (don't worry ~ I requested it as a present). After I started using it, though, I was more than a bit disappointed. It's rather fussy, won't blend smoothly if the food isn't weighty enough, and often needs to be baby-sat. As examples, I tried to make 1 can of garbanzo beans worth of hummus, and it ended up being far too gritty. It worked better with two cans, but I only cook for myself, so it would go bad before I could use it all. In another case, I tried to make a slushie for myself, and I had to stand over the blender with a spoon to keep pushing down the ice. The name advertises "10 Speed," but it seems like it only has two speeds - loud and louder. There are also two more buttons that do the same thing, which is, you have to stand there and hold them down if you want to blend. This is useful, for like I said, if you have to turn it off every few seconds anyway, you may as well hold the button down yourself.
