What makes a great pot of French press coffee is water at the right temperature. The Hamilton Beach 10 Cup Kettle is sure to bring your water to a boil in an instant. All you have to do is plug in the plate, fill up the kettle, set it on the plate and hit the trigger. Within two minutes your water goes from room temperature to boiling. Another good feature about this 10 cup kettle is that it doesn't take up a lot of counter space. The three foot cord is more than long enough and once your pot has cooled off you can store it easily. Rinse out the Hamilton Beach kettle a few times before using it and give it a light scrub. That takes away that metallic taste. Also be sure not to let the water evaporate out or you'll have a slightly burnt taste to your water. As soon as your water boils, I recommend unplugging the plate. As far as making that perfect French Press coffee, I timed how long it takes to get the water from boiling point to 200 degrees Fahrenheit. let your 10 cup kettle cool down a minute and a half before pouring it on the grounds.

I own a chrome (stainless steel) version of this water kettle. It has been in use for more than a year, and unlike some other brands I've tried, this one does not suffer from design mistakes that cause water to leak or the base not to settle properly. The kettle is built strong and is easy to clean. It takes about 1.7 liters of water (when you fill up to the top suggested line) which gets boiled in about 2-3 minutes. More water means more boiling time, and less water boils faster (obviously). The kettle is easy to clean, but really does not need much cleaning other than an external wipe every now and then. We've never used any liquid other than just tap or filtered water, and the inside always looks clean; there are no residues or ugly colorings. Overall, I'd advise this to folks looking for a similar product. We've tried more expensive brands too, but this one seemed to settle in its own place on our kitchen counter.

I love this product. I received it for my birthday this year and thought I should review it to help those out there who are looking for a quality electric kettle to purchase. It is very conservative space-wise and looks great next to other kitchen appliances. Because it is made out of stainless steel, the water heats up to a very high temperature, very quickly. It is cordless so all you have to do is make sure it gets on the base correctly and then push down on the 'On' tab at the bottom and presto - it's as easy as that to heat up your water. I use my electric kettle to heat water for making tea, porridge for my little one in the mornings, soups, or even boiling water to use to wash my dishes in the sink when I am too impatient for the kitchen faucet water to heat up or feel that I am wasting water. While I love my microwave or the old-fashioned way of boiling water in a pot on the stove top, I prefer using my electric kettle as my go-to appliance for all my boiled water needs!

Every year someone always gives me some sort of kettle or coffee pot for Christmas or my birthday, as a result I have many of them. Some I donate, some I keep if they look unique. I've owned two of these. One I've used, the other I've donated to a homeless shelter. So far the shelter uses theirs up to 10-15 times a day and it is still working since the workers have mentioned it quite a few times. With use like that, it would be hard not to give it a very good. In the handful of times I've used it, I've seen no difference in it and my larger frequently used Hamilton Beach kettle. There are two reasons I didn't give it a very good. What I hate is the location of the water measurements. Most kettles I've seen the water indicator is along the side. This one is under the handle. For me this not only looks bad, but is slightly harder to read. Also the on switch is at the bottom of the kettle, which is one of the features I made sure my favorite kettle didn't have.

I absolutely love this electric kettle. It heats up water very fast and to a very hot temperature. I use it for everything from tea to soup to coffee. I chose the red color and it really adds a pop of color in my kitchen. The round design is cute and the handles allow for a sturdy grip on the kettle. I highly recommend this kettle to anyone looking for a quick way to boil water.
