I'm a former magazine junkie and have had to limit myself to only a few subscriptions in the past year or so.  Surprisingly, one of my favorite magazines is Hallmark Magazine.  Why, you may ask?  Let me count the ways.

Content:  Each issue has articles on several topics including beauty, book recommendations, collections, cooking, crafts, entertaining, inspirational stories, and more.  If you don't find an article that interests you right away, keep looking.  There is something for everyone in each issue of Hallmark Magazine.

Easy to Read:  Many articles in Hallmark Magazine are three pages or less, most of them only one page.  When my leisure time is limited, I like knowing that I can always finish an article after starting it.  And kudos to Hallmark for continuing each story on the next page, not on several pages at the back of the magazine.  Nothing irritates me more than having to flip to the back of a magazine to find two paragraphs at the bottom of one page and then having to turn to yet another page to finally finish the article.

Magazine Size and Pages:  The number of pages in each issue of Hallmark Magazine is just right at about 150 pages.  Some magazines are too overwhelming with three-hundred plus pages and I get carpal tunnel just looking at the cover.  Not so with Hallmark.  Also, the width of the magazine is larger than most magazines at nine inches, instead of the standard eight.  That allows for more text per page so less pages are printed, which means that more trees are saved.  Yes, I try to be environmentally friendly as much as possible even with my magazine addiction.  Side note:  I always recycle all of my magazines.

Photography:  The photos in each issue of Hallmark Magazine are beautiful and inspiring.  Whether it's a picture of crafts, food, or a destination, I always feel good about myself afterwards.  I can't say the same about several other magazines which feature rail-thin models in skimpy clothes.  Those magazines just make me want to eat a cake.

Advertisements:  The number of advertisements in each issue is just right and not overwhelming.  I purchase Hallmark Magazine for the articles, not to flip through hundreds of pages of advertisements.

Cost:  Currently, a 12 issue subscription to Hallmark Magazine costs $14.95, which I think is very reasonable.  Quite a few times, I've had the opportunity to purchase gift subscriptions for my friends and also renew my subscription for close to the same price.  What a deal!  To purchase a copy directly from the newstand will set you back $3.95 per issue, which is comparable to most magazines.

If none of the above has convinced you to at least take a look at an issue of Hallmark Magazine, well you can't fault me for trying.  Would a triple-dog-dare work instead?  No matter.  If you ever get the chance to peak at an issue, please do so and let me know what you think.  Hopefully, you'll be just as smitten as I am.

But cheese is good and I love the Hallmark channel except for when they do the western marathons. I never even knew they had a magazine. I'm going to check this out because it looks like something I would enjoy.

The holiday photo is cute and I did notice your son's hand ;+)

Thanks for the compliment on my Christmas photo. Did you notice where my son's hand is? LOL. This is the picture that I used on our photo cards this year. ;)
