Hallmark Flowers Review

While I love to receive surprise flower deliveries, I very rarely send them myself.  Flowers are lovely but are so expensive that I'd rather send something that lasts longer or is more enjoyable, like a basket of LUSH or a fruit bouquet.  However this fall I've had four occasions for which I needed to send something but food or LUSH was inappropriate.  After doing some research I decided to give Hallmark Flowers a try and was happy with all of the deliveries they sent. 

In September a friend had surgery so I sent her a tropical bouquet to bring her mind back to a trip she took to Hawaii.  The bouquet came with a vase which was perfect as I didn't want her to have to deal with finding one while recuperating.  The bouquet was absolutely gorgeous and I had hoped she would receive something that looked similar.  When she received it she called and emailed me a picture of what she received and it looked exactly like the picture on HallmarkFlowers.com.  I was very pleased.  The only issue I encountered was that the flowers were delivered a day late, however Hallmark called me the day before to explain that the delivery of Birds of Paradise they received was of questionable quality and that they didn't want to send my order with those flowers.  They refunded my shipping fee for the inconvenience. 

I was so pleased with that delivery that when my parents' next door neighbor died a few weeks later I sent flowers to the funeral from Hallmark Flowers.  Hallmark contracted with a local florist and exactly what I ordered was delivered to the funeral home the morning of the funeral.

In October my best friend's child died so again I used Hallmark Flowers.  I ordered the plant shown to the right of this review and again Hallmark contracted with a local florist who unfortunately did not deliver exactly what I ordered.  The plant was lovely but it was in a basket and I really wanted to give my friend the cool green dish. 

Although what the florist delivered was perfectly fine, I called Hallmark to tell them that the florist did not send exactly what was pictured on the website and that I was disappointed about the plant being in a basket and not the dish.  The plant was pretty and the basket was fine, but it did not represent what was shown on the website and I thought that Hallmark should be made aware of that.  As a result Hallmark completely refunded my purchase. 

So as the funeral flowers were free, I placed another order of Halloween flowers which I sent to my friend's house a week after the funeral.  I also sent the same bouquet to myself.  Pathetic, I know, but after all the death and sadness I needed a pick me up as well.  The flowers arrived on time and exactly as pictured on HallmarkFlowers.com.  In fact, I'm looking at them right now and they're still alive nearly 2 weeks later. Only 4 of the many flowers in the bouquet have died.

HallmarkFlowers.com is very easy to navigate so I was able to find what I needed quickly and easily.  The prices are pretty good as well and many bouquets and arrangements go on sale from time to time.  It's also fairly easy to find an online coupon code to get reduced or free delivery or a discount on the arrangement. 

Orders shipped directly from Hallmark are delivered by Fedex and those contracted thru a local florist are delivered by that florist.  Delivery dates and prices are clearly listed on Hallmark's site.

There are a few other nice things about sending flowers from Hallmark.  First, they are on Ebates so customers can earn cash back for purchasing thru that site.  Second, if you are a Hallmark Gold Crown member you earn points for purchasing on Hallmark Flowers.com.  Lastly, Hallmark sends a pretty, full-sized greeting card with each delivery at no extra charge.

4 stars - Although I had one little glitch with using HallmarkFlowers.com, the other 4 purchases were outstanding and I would not hesitate to use them again.  Customer service was most helpful and when I wasn't completely happy they made things right.
