Half Magic —

"Half Magic" by Edward Eager is about 4 children who were bored with their summer life and wished they could do something fun. One of the children named Jane finds a coin in the crack of the sidewalk and puts it in her pocket. At first she thinks it is a nickel but later the children realize it is a magical coin, only instead of granting full wishes, it only grants half. So they have to wish twice to make a whole wish. The children go on adventures with the magical coin and the story ends with a happy ending.

I  enjoyed reading this book and I do recommend it to kids and adults who would like to read something different and enjoyable. There's some parts where it is difficult to understand which made me think that the author was British (because the narration sounded that way) but turns out that Mr. Edward Eager was an American inspired by the British writer E. Nesbit.
