My husband and I went to go see Hairspray last night. I got a lot of grief going into the movie from my husband, (who would have preferred Harry Potter or The Simpsons) but we both walked out with a perma-smile. It was a really cute film!

Hairspray had great casting, a good storyline, and fun music. I have to admit that I didnt recall much from years past-- other than Ricki Lake was in the originial.  So, I was pleasantly suprised to see that there was a real story behind the show. And, the casting-- John Travolta in drag is enough to make you go see the film. His girlie impersonations and gestures had me rolling on the floor with laughter. The music was pretty addictive too. Hairpsray was very well done!!!

Overall, it is a fun musical that makes you smile and feel good. I think the movie would be enjoyed by women (guys may think it is a chick flick), but my husband enjoyed it too. If you appreciate music, musicals and creativity, anyone will enjoy the film!

I haven't seen this version but the original was too funny. It also had Deborah Harryof Blondie in it.

This is one movie I may stop working for and try to see. I get CRAZY bored in movies thinking of how much work I could be doing instead but, if it keeps me amused, I think I can do it. lol.
