Hairspray is a wonderful movie. It is up beat and kept me entertained. I was singing along to the songs before i even knew them. I saw it 4 times in theaters it was that good. It's a remake from the original. I have seen the original and I believe this one is better. The movie shows the segregation of blacks and whites in the 60's. It is a semi-realistic film. As a musical lover this movie was amazing.
