Hairspray Review

This a great  movie but it is different then the original.  This has more songs/music.  My daughter and I loved this movie but not my son or hubby.  They both said there were way to many singing songs in this movie.  So this movie is not for you if you do not like musicals.

The plot is the same as the original movie but this verision did not have the same acts/scenes as the original movie did.  I did miss the beatnicks in this verision.    I must admit that even though John Travolta gave a terrific performance I do not care for him in drag.  The female star who plays Tracy resembles Rikki Lake very much.  I am a huge Rikki Lake fan and the new female star did not disappoint me at all.   Also loved Queen Latiah in this verision.

We were lucky enough to get this DVD with a bonus DVD with lots of extras that are very good and interesting.

Once again.  I highly recommend this DVD if you are a musical lover.
