As someone who doesn't normally like musicals, or men in drag (!), I was not sure how I would feel about the musical version of Hairspray.  I went with my wife and daughter and was pleasantly surprised.  I really enjoyed the music & dancing and the story is very uplifting.  John Travolta was really good in the role of the mother that was played by the late Divine in the original movie.
