We purchased this dehumidifier about a year ago because, in the winter time, we would wake up to frosty windows with water dripping around the edges and into the wood frame. It collects about a gallon of water every few days or so, so we know it works. The windows don't get quite so wet, although we still sometimes have to go around and wipe them off. This dehumidifier is about three feet tall, two feet wide, and one foot long and fairly heavy to carry. It does make some noise while it's working, but that is to be expected. It's about as noisy as a moderate bathroom fan, so we usually run it at nighttime so it doesn't interfere with daytime noise. Overall, great product and quite useful. I would recommend it.
