I purchased this microwave about 4 years ago. In my experience, microwave ovens last a very long time. The previous one I owned came to an untimely demise when a microscopic piece of foil got into it and zapped it, but that's another story.... The Haier stepped in to take it's place and within 2 years, the glass plate stopped spinning. I asked a repairman to look at it and he said there was nothing he could do. So, not wanted to replace it yet, I continued using it. I even stepped in, acting as the spinner myself, I would periodically pause it during use, and turn the container so it wouldn't get too hot on one side. Anyway, last week I found a recipe to cook fish in the microwave...yay! or so I thought.... After about 10 minutes, I realized that even though the clock was ticking down, there was no sound or activity inside. My husband pulled the plug and said to give it a minute....but that was its last minute. After we tried replugging it, it gave up the ghost and wouldn't come on. What a ripoff....

We bought this microwave as poor college students who had to replace our previous microwave which broke. It was a purchase of desperation and "necessity" because life is just easier with a microwave. So far, our microwave has performed well. It is over a year old and we are satisfied with our purchase. It was affordable and that was what mattered. We were not used to 700 watts and still get surprised at how long it can take to heat up food, but compared to heating it in the oven or on the stove, it is still quicker and more convenient. It is easy enough to clean without random nooks/crannies and the plate is dishwasher safe. The convenient 1-6 buttons automatically heat for that many minutes (pressing 1=heating for 1 minute, etc) and it's easy enough to hit start to add 30 seconds. Do not bother with the popcorn button though, because your popcorn will just end up burned.

We have had this microwave for about a year now and it has held up well to regular daily use. It is a good size and fits everything we'd need to microwave. It has strong enough power to heat or defrost everything we have tried in a reasonable time. It has a bunch of functions that we haven't bothered exploring; in fact, it has so many functions that it's hard for us to remember how to simply microwave something for 45 seconds. (For example, if you push the #1 button, it automatically microwaves for a minute. If you push #2, it is two minutes. There's another button for 30 seconds. But I can't for the life of me remember how to microwave something that isn't in exact 30 second or 1 minute intervals. I'd have to search through the manual.) There are other buttons for things like popcorn, etc., and they work reasonably well too. All in all, it was a good purchase for us. I just wish it were slightly more intuitive to use for basic functions.

**Haier 700 Watt 0.7 Cubic Feet Microwave Oven MWM0701TB is really nice and really worth buying it! never had any problem with it and really feel this the last microwave i need to have! having many microwaves in the past, this one really does its job, from many functions! it heats my food in just meter of soconds, dont have to wait forever my food to heat up , like i had to wait with my other microwaves, where all you have to wait, and wait and wait for the food to be ready to eat, this one really rocks me, so fast it is ! and the price is not that bad too! and it is quite too! and it space saver too! my many others took too much space and i never had enough space on my kitchen table becuse of bulky microwaves that took almost all the room on my dining table!**

  I purchased the Haier Microwave model MWM0701TSS. I purchased a compact microwave to replace a very large one for two reasons: As empty-nesters we don't use one for more than heating leftovers, melting butter or chocolate, and popping corn, not preparing meals, and because I wanted to free up more counter space. I checked the size of my dinner plates to make sure they would fit on the turntable. Just barely. The only drawback on the compact size is that a bag of popcorn, when inflated, is too large to turn on the turntable. The quality of the popcorn is not affected though. The Haier microwave  is a good quality for the price. It would be great for a studio apartment, but if I were to purchase it again, I would buy a 9.0. The control panel is easy to read and easy to use. The clear glass turntable is easy to remove, clean, and replace. I couldn't be happier with it. I could have paid more for more features, but this one is perfect for our needs. We have used it for nearly a year with no problems. My only complaint is that it was packaged with all parts covered with a plastic coating that needed to be removed. It was a big project to get all of the plastic coating off.
