HTC Shadow Cell Phone makes a crash landing

3

HTC "Smart Phone" should be a smarter cell phone. This phone is nothing but a pain in my butt!!! The only reason i got it, was because at Tmobile they a bunch of cell phones where you have to pay an extra fee each month just for having it, even if you didnt want those extra features, or cell phones with the regular number keys, or basically cheap phones. I must have the qwerty keyboard on my phone, since thats what ive gotten used to, and i absolutely love and prefer. This phone does have the qwerty keyboard, if you dont like phones with these keys because your not used to them, trust me i wasnt when i ot my first qwerty keyboard phone either, and it really pissed me of, but its very easy to get used to, especailly if you type a lot on the computer as it is. Now thats all i like! This phone, was the one smart phone that i didnt have to pay no extra fees for each month. I can upgrade my plan if i ever do wish to use them, but i dont use my phone as a computer, and dont need the extras. The screen is big, and easy to view, which is always a plus. It also has an mp3 player, windows media, on it, and comes with two games: solitaire, and bubble breaker, which arent demo versions, thank god. You can also transfer files from your computer to your phone, like i did with music. However, unless im dumb and cant figure it out, lol, i dont think that you can use your music as your ring tones. i dont know if any phone can even do that, i just wish they could. The home screen is made out like a computer screen, with the start button on the bottom left corner. You can choose different layouts for the home screen. The text messages are laid out cool too! when you open your text messages, all the people you've been texting, until you delete those texts, are in a list by name. Click the name of the person or text you want to read, aND it opens up almost like an IM. So if you get a text with more than one page, instead of opening one, reading it, closing it to open the next page, its all right there infront of you. your sent messages there too. This is extremely useful, seeing as any other phone ive ever had, if someone sent me a 3 page text, the texts would recieve out of order, so id have to try to puzzle it together, to make it make sense. My favorite, and most useful feature, is that i can check how charged my battery is. Just looking at how many bars you have left, always puts  me in a situation where i not home, and phone dies. It tells you what percent of battery life you have left!   Other features it has on the phone are, camera, video recorder, communication manager, wifi, device management, email, task manager, internet applications, instant messaging, internet explorer, tzones, voice command, java application, adobe reader, office mobile, and your regular applications most or all cell phones have like speed dial, calculator, etc. The phone is red and black, which i love the colors, but if you dont you can always buy different color ( skins are they called? or phone cover things? ) It also comes with its on carrying case-belt clip. But i dont use mine because then i cant hear it go off. The speaker, apparently, is  on the back of the phone, so you have to keep phone faced down in order to hear it go off, which means you cant see if it lights up, like i do, for occasions i dont hear it. Usually ill see phone light up telling me my phone went off, but cant do that with this one when its face down. I also hate how fat the phone is. Yes it is a slider phone, but its the fattest slider phone ive ever seen. I usually keep my phone in my back pocket, because when im out, i dont listen for  phone if its in my purse, or if im at home, i dont want to carry it in my hands whereever i go. This phone i cant keep in my pocket at all, due to its size. When im wearing my basketball shorts, its a pain to even have in those big pockets, because it is very heavy. As im walking, it swings  all over the place in my basketball  shorts, hitting into things i walk by. Being so heavy, it makes for a huge crash landing. Everyone has to have dropped there phone atleast once in their life, most of us many times, but me, i do it daily. When i first dropped this phone, omg i thought it had to be broken, because of how loud it drops due to weight. The bad thing is, iv dropped my mine walk walking, where it drops right where my foot is taking its next step, kicking my phone across the room, which makes a really loud bang!!!   The final bad thing about this phone, is it processes very very slowly. When i first got it and didnt have anything loaded onto it, it was slow. I never turn my phone off, because turning it on, is nerve wrecking, seeing as how takes forever to get to home screen, then when it does, instead of saying your cell phone service, it says searching, wait a moment, then when you think you finally have service, it says home service. Meaning not connected to your provider yet. Eventually it will say your cell phone service, but during that wait, you cant do anything on your phone, cuz it just freezes.

The Tmobile Shodow is a pretty good phone, it does what it needs to but it could be a little better for what they are charging people for it. I've had it since August of this year and I have already had to replace it. The text message application is the first to go haywire. Like now I am getting my text messages with the wrong time. It will also freeze on you and lock up plenty of times during the day.

**I recently purchased a tmobile shadow.  thought it was a great cell when i first ** **got it until there was absolutly no signal and also i couldnt access the interenet which i am paying for monthly and i coulndt down load my favorite games and ringtones i mean come on the whole point of a cell phone is it is a gadget right so you also want to have it personalized to be one hundred percent you i feel bad puting the phone down i mean t mobile has one of the best customer service i have to say being a fine canasour of cellular phone companies but they really need to take the shadow to the nearest recycling bin and make something more useful out of it like toilet paper or a paper towel i hate tracfone and my stupid tracfone has better coverage than this product i m realy sorry for being so overopinionated but if tmobile does read this i recommend they either forgo the shadow origional verision or at least make some improvements so you dont have to exchange the phone the first week  thankyou **

I didn't get what I wanted with this phone

My T-Mobile shadow is definitely not what I was wanting in a mobile phone. First off, the camera has the ability to take good pictures... of statues.. not of things that actually move. Second, the real web browsing shouldnt be called that because it wont display most websites in a format that you can understand. There are no good apps to download. I was really hoping for a GPS app that can give directions and has maps (which my blackberry had) but unfortunately it only has a traffic updating app. One of the more irritating things is that the text messages wont organize the way i like. It saves alll of them and when I try to mass delete... my phone freezes and I have to restart it. It does send texts fast and you are able to watch movies on it. The movies however, take up alot of memory. It has the ability to be an mp3 player also, but that will run your battery down super fast!! Once i get an upgrade, i am definitely getting rid of this thing.

t-mobile shadow is a good phone.

The t-mobile shadow is a good phone. It has lots of features. I really enjoy playing the game bubble  breaker. I play it every day. The phone slides up to use the buttons and for the keypad for texting. I don't text anymore. I got rid of it due to I don't text anyone and I was having to pay extra for it. I really did enjoy how the keyboard was for texting when I was texting. The letters are not like a normal keypad with ABC being on the 1 button. Instead there are two letters on each keypad and this makes it easier to spell a word and it spells the word you want before you even finish it. I am still learning the phone, but I really enjoy my my-faves. I don't use the e-mail or the web browsing, but you can use it to browse the web, myspace, facebook, IM and more. I am not really into all that technology with a cell phone. I really don't want to have to pay extra for something I don't use either. I don't know what T9 keyboard is so I'm not sure if it has it or not.

The Shadow

The 2007 released phone named, The Shadow, by HTC is a great combination of your everyday cell phone use and your computer needds. The Shadow offers a 2.o mega pixel camera ready to take wonderful pictures and exciting videos of family and friends or even your occasional zoo animal.  Overall i would say this phone is a high tech peice of equitment that even the anti-techs could use.

The HTC Shadow looks nice but it is too slow and not as advance

2

The HTC Shadow from T-Mobile is a nice stylish phone. I am not a big fan of the windows mobile. I find the phones operating system to be very slow and hard to work with and hard to understand. I am an experienced windows users and found this product to be one of the worst windows software ever. I have had problems with the T-Mobile Shadow since I have purchased the phone. I have even replaced the phone and I am still experiencing the same problems as I was with the other device. My contacts takes an extreme amount of time to load and double with contacts in the phone and on the sim card. There is no way to only view one set of contacts. The camera on the device is hard to use and the backing on the device pops off with little movement.

Modern look and neat programs, but not exactly user-friendly.

3

It slides up for a full qwerty style keyboard, the sound quality is great, the style and look of the background is wonderful... but when it comes to using it, it isn't all that user-friendly. To use your own songs from a micro SD card you have to go through the hassle of copying and pasting and the prefrences for text messages have to be changed everytime you write one, you can't just set it all up once. Overall it's not a bad phone for the money, but it has some things that can be more of a chore.

The Shadow is not bad for a T-mobile cell phone.

The Shadow is a pretty handy cell phone.  The only part that takes some getting used to is the keyboard.  If you're like me and have had many different phones and have always been texting all day everyday the keyboard is a pain at first.  Unlike most other cell phones the keyboard on the shadow is set up like a computer keyboard.  Since slowly breaking the habits of the past I can now slowly text but I'm getting faster.  The screen has great clarity and the camera takes nice pics.  The ability to access Outlook and other MS Office programs is a definite plus.  E-mail and web access work great too.  The manual is closer to a short novel and I strongly recommend the computer copy for reference, because when you first get the phone you will need it.  Transfering files, pictures, and music from the computer to the phone is extremely easy all you need is the USB cable and the phone sets up its own folder right on the desktop.

The T-Mobile Shadow is simply the greatest cell phone ever.

The T-Mobile Shadow has something for everyone! The QWERTY keyboard is simple to use and makes texting speedy and efficient. The Internet works fast and is displayed well, even though it's on a cell phone. The battery lasts for hours!Speakerphone is clear and you can actually understand those who call you! The ringtones are wonderful, I actually use the preset ones! The phone looks chunky online, but it is lighter than my friend's Blackberry Pearl. It fits in pockets easily and slides with one finger. It comes with Bubble Breaker (not a version of Brick Breaker sadly) and Solitaire, which are actually quite addicting.Overall this phone makes calling and texting easy, while the camera and bonus features make using the phone fun and exciting, for everyone from preteens to old people! **I would definitely recommend it to anyone!**
