My first phones were alright, nothing too nice, pretty cheap phones but they let me text and call, a few games were on them as well. When I decided it was time for a new phone I went into the T-Mobile store to find something within my budget. I looked all over, seeing Droids, Blackberries, all the expensive ones. Then I spotted the HTC Dash. It was pretty affordable, and I thought, "HTC? This is gonna be great!" Boy was I wrong. When I started to use the phone for the first week I got pretty used to it, but I didn't do much. When I started exploring more features, I noticed that the phone was terribly laggy. It became unusable at times because it just froze up, and nothing worked. The power button didn't even work, I had to take out the battery one time because there was no other way of turning it off due to frozen screen and ineffective power button. Then the worst came about a week later. It was cold and I was wearing a windbreaker with loose pockets, and I feel something hot on my belly every now and then. I get my phone out of the LOOSE pocket (just to prove this was not a body heat issue) and I notice the damn thing is dead from overheating. The other pocket on my windbreaker right next to it was at a pretty cold temperature, so it had to have been the phone. I hated the phone, but I decided to see if i could work with it. I still got to text and call, but it still overheats. Also, the volume touch strip is WAY too sensitive, I turned the sensitivity to low and it still brought up the godawful volume screen that takes up the whole screen. Why would a volume switch need to take up a whole screen to indicate volume? I don't know, but this phone is terrible, I would go back to my old cheap phones anytime. Which I probably will, considering the fact that everyone I call says they can hardly hear me with the Dash and they hear me clearly with the other cheap old phones.

This is a great entry level smart phone.  Windows mobile is easy to use, and ve.  The phone is verry easy to sync with my Outlook.  The phone handles multiple tasks with ease.  I liked being able to save my apps to the ad card.  The music player was really nice as well.  I liked that it synced withe the Windows Media player.  I've watched downloaded movies on it, and played games.  There aren't a lot of applications available.  Especially because it doesn't have the touch screen like some other phones.  It is easy to hack though.  The volume control on the side is very annoying, when I'm in a call I always accidently push it making it impossible to hear the person I'm talking with.  Great size, and light weight.  The keyboard is really easy to use for texting, and even composing emails.  Also having the expandable SD card slot helps to store all my music and pictures.  The camera quality is pretty good for a cell phone too.

I had this phone less than two weeks,  sound is very low,  calls were always dropping and I had to keep calling t-mobil to check into the problem.  Constantly pops on and stalls all the time, you have to remove  the cover off the back and pull the battery up so the phone can work.  they keys are very small for texing.   I wouldnt recomment this phone to anyone  and if I knew better the first time I would have not purchase it.  Also you had to charge this phone every few hours,  because it goes dead very quickly.   I purchase a less inexpensive phone and it works perfect,  I have no compliments except for it doesnt have the text so i can follow thru to my friends.

The Dash is a pretty sweet phone, It can take lots of abuse. Took mine falling off of a house to finaly die. Windows mobile is great software. Phone never had any problems other than when you let the text messages build up to much, it would freak out and run slow. Delete old text messages offten to keep the phone working like new. Also you can install programs such as a Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) Emulator. Making it so you can play all the old games you loved when you were a kid. I had Mario, and zelda on mine. I would play them every day at work. The battery life is good as well. But after a year or so I suggest buying a replacement battery. HTC is an awesome company for building great phones. I would suggest this phone to anyone, or the new dash 3g.The keyboard is also really solid. It's a little small but you get used to it quickly. The speaker could have been louder on the phone, but that's probably the only thing I really didn't like about it.

  I have had my HTC DASH for a while now.  I'm very pleased with it. It's a great quality cell phone.  Whether it's taking quality photographs ,or video ,easy accessable instant messaging ,even getting on the mobile web is very convient.   The HTC DASH has a full qwerty keyboard, which lights up bright blue.  Their are very many applications to acess.  You can install all kinds of software directly into you cell phone.  Your able to download games, ringtones ,pictures, about anything.  The HTC DASH also has a very big screen.  There is a calender, calculator, voice notes , communication manager, and even a  section for different tasks.    This handy little device also has windows software and windows live search. It also includes Adobe Reader , Office Mobile, and Java Applications.  This phone is a life saver I can manage my entire life better. Life is complicated enough!  Why not make managing it alot easier.  It's really hard to believe one little cell phone can be so advanced in technology and do so much to inprove your way of life.

The Dash 3G is flat, compact and wide but still easy to hold. It's also light and I LOVE the skin of it. Its easy to hold and the styling is very attractive -- not flashy. Its compact design slips easily into pockets and the navigation key makes navigation quick and easy. But the QWERTY keys could stand to be a bit wider with more room between them. Out of the box, the Dash comes with a Li-Ion battery, charger, stereo headset, carrying pouch, start guide, tips and tricks card, user guide CD, terms and conditions booklet, USB cable and audio/charging cable.

The T-Mobile Dash is probably the worst PDA one will ever get.  The software sucks, it takes FOREVER to start, it cuts off, and don't get me started on T-Mobile.  If you have problems with the phone, they will try to send you another, and when that one doesn't work, they will try to send you ANOTHER one.  Dont waste your time/money.

I spent a while looking for a new phone, going through the different options that T-mobiile had to offer.  I looked over the variety of Blackberry and various other devices available and finally settled on the Dash.   It features internet connectivity either through the EDGE Network or through Wi-Fi, supports Bluetooth 2.0, and has push e-mail capability.  The phone runs on Windows Mobile and comes with mobiel version of Word, Excel and Powerpoint (depending on when your paticular model was manufactured you may have to upgrade your firmware to have these, originally the Dash shipped with ClearVue Suite which only allowed you to view files, not editing them.) Other software includes a download agent, calculator, voice recorder, Internet Explorer, Windows Media Player, Outlook Mobile, and a task manager. The Dash comes with a 1.3 Megpixel camera that is only avergae, however it's good enough for me when I want to take a picture when I don't have my digital camera available.  After taking your picture you can either send it via Bluetooth, email, multimedia message, or just save them to your phone or memory card.  One small annoyance is that there is no flash on this phone. The phone has a full QWERTY keyboard, albeit it very small.  However even with my olarge hands I have no problem pushing the individual keys as there is just enough spacing between the keys to avoid hitting more than one at a time. One annoying feature is the touchstrip on the right side of the phone that is used for volume control.  I've heard that this strip was originally to be used as a scrollbar for the phone, but they could never get it to operate correctly.  Sometimes the volume changes immediately, other times it takes a few tries to get it to change.  If you look on the internet you can find software that activates the scrollbar feature that this was originally intended to do. Overall I think this phone is a great value for the price.  Lots of features, a nice bright screen and it fits perfectly in the palm of my hand.

I'm on my second Dash in 6 months. T-Mobile kindly replaced the first one and now I'm having the exact same problems again! My phone freezes up and the only way to shut down is to remove battery and power back up, the alarm clock goes off randomly whenever it wants (at work!), on half of my calls people cannot hear me speaking, etc., etc., etc...need I say more?

**I bought this Tmobile Dash cellphone not long after it was available. I purchased mine back in March of 2007, and have had this phone since. I have had to replace it twice already. I was debatingon getting the Blackberry Pearl at the time, over this phone, but was told this one would be better for texting as the Blackberry is better if you email more than text. I do a lot of texting, so I went with this phone. I liked it a lot for the 1st few months, and after that I started noticing more of its flaws than what I actually liked about it. It runs off a 16MB memory card but once you start using more than a few programs it gets slower and starts to lock up. you're able to close out all of the programs by going to the task manager and ending them, but it doesnt always give you all of your memory back until you restart your phone. My phone tends to freeze about once per day now, which is definitely irritating.. otherwise the texting still works alright, the internet works on average unless there is an outage. It has its ups and downs. I think I'm about ready to move on to another new phone though. **
