htc desire , i love this phone

When I purchased this phone, is was a big debate between this and a iphone. Im so happy with my descision, I absolutly love this phone. It has many great features, and looks great. When I first got this phone I keeped telling people to feel the back of it. It is so smooth, its unreal. This phone is a android phone, and has many wonderful apps available for it, most of which are free. It received my phone with a 8gb memory card already in it. Most phones do not include such big memory cards for free. The screen is the perfect size, it sounds great, and its durrable. I am accident prone and tend to drop my things more often then an avergae person would. The phone is still in amazing condition after over a year of use. I am so impressed with this phone, I think HTC will always have my business because of the great quality phones they have. I really enjoy playing games on this phone. I will say that sometimes when using the GPS app I downloaded*for free* the battery does tend to die a bit faster then normal use of the phone, but I do beleive that this is probably something that happends with every phone. This phone just rocks my socks off then back on again.

The HTC Desire... Huge Power in a Small box...

5

Talking about Power... with the included 1GHz Processor and a 4GB micro SD-card you can't go wrong :-) Or so it seems... Having such a huge workspace, the HTC intends to get rather warm when multitasking a lot... This sometimes results in random reboots. But don't worry... it might seem as if the phone is rather rubish but it seriously isn't... With it's amazing Android OS and just-about-sentitive-enough touchpad (with multitouch) you can't go wrong! Easy to use webbrowser, smooth controls, amazing music player and pretty bad-ass colours on the screen... it's as if you've always been using a boring low-res phone and someone suddenly turned on the lights :-)   I often watch series and films on it on the bus... in the car... and even in my bed... and the sound/video quality are amazing! Almost as amazing as watching it on a HighDef screen! Big words for such a small device you say? Wait till you hear about the apps and "le awesome HTC sence!"... Saying Android means LOADS of free apps, widgets and about everything your phone needs :-) That along with HTC-Sence (the phone 'learning' from you) = magnificent 'Friends Stream' so now you won't just learn from other people's lives through SMS'es... but suddenly Twitter, Facebook and about every social network you can think of is right at the tips of your finger...   Enjoy this amazing Smartphone... you def won't regret it! Battery Life Easily runs for multiple days! Display/Screen Quality Nice bright screen, just the thing you need if you feel like watching a series on your phone. Call Quality Even though the phone doesn't include noise-blocking, the call quality is pretty high when compared to other devices by HTC. Ease of Use 1 word... Android! Durability When dropped, the plastic casing easily dents a bit.

HTC Desire Android is wonderful!

I went from the LG Lotus Elite to the HTC Desire and it was like going from horse and buggy to Nascar! The eas of operation is astounding. I'm not thrilled with touch pad key board but I love the fact that you can slide across the keys and spell words. You don't have to click each letter. The other great thing about it is the apps that are available. Want to do some comparison shopping? There's and app for that! Scan the barcode then put in your zip code and it will compare prices at local stores. The other thing I find great about this phone is the fact that you can get many different emal addresses synced to it. I serve on several boards and am able to get emails from those locations, my job, gmail and facebook. The connection speed is G-fast! Getting online is a breeze. The one button screen preview is so handy. You can keep personal things off your home screen but still access them with the click of a button! If you're looking for an easy to use, crystal clear, sturdy android the Desire is perfect!

great all purpose phone

5

HTC's Desire smartphone is one of the reasons I decided to switch to Verizon. Desire is HTC's top end smartphone, and runs Android operating system. It's an all purpose phone that can do pretty much all smartphone can do. With Android's popularity and abundant of apps, you know you're getting the best phone available. The build quality of Desire is great, it's very slim and the size feels just right. The only downside is the video quality, especially the sound is not very good. You can hear the hissing sound even just moving the phone slightly. Other than that, the picture quality is about right, as well as the speed of the phone. I can run multiple apps at the same time, never feel sluggish except switching apps. With the app in focus, it runs pretty smoothly. Overall I have been very happy with HTC's Desire, and I'm thinking of switching to Design HD for better picture and video qualities.

Love at First Scroll...

My husband and I are new to the smartphone world. This past Christmas we decided to treat ourselves to an upgrade. I decided to get the top of the line since it will be another 2 years before we can trade in again (I know I hate that about our cellphone provider, but we live in the middle of nowhere and now that i have a toddler, I never want to not have signal). Anyway, we splurged on the HTC Desire. I was afraid it was going to be too much to learn, but I was completely surprised! This phone is very user friendly. I LOVE how it connects my social network connections to my phonebook. The screen size is good for being a phone, of course, its small when you view a webpage, but very easy to expand. The biggest seller for me was the fact that it is an Android phone. For those of you who don't know, if you have the choice between Blackberry or Android, Blackberry doesn't have as many free apps. I'm not judging the Blackberry, since I have never owned one, but I know that free Apps was a MAJOR selling point for me.

HTC Desire has opened a whole new world

5

The HTC Desire is my first smartphone and as someone whose trudged through life with various flip phones, this one has been a game changer for me. Why I didn't get it sooner is beyond me. There are so many pros that I couldn't possibly list them all with a teeny amount of cons but I'll run down a few that I feel are important. The Desire is rigid with a very good build quality without that plasticy feel from other phones I've owned. The 3.7" Display is stunning for its size with ample brightness very good text quality which is easy to read even from arms length. The rear speaker is adequate for speakerphone but it can become rather incoherent at high volumes for media. The Desire has tactile buttons on the front panel as apposed to Touch buttons for instance on the HTC Incredible. The HAL looking tracking laser is a nice touch. The volume controls are located on the upper left side which in my case tend to get in the way when holding the Desire horizontally they way i do. Constantly resting my thumb on the volume up control. Mating the desire with a case corrected this issue for me. Power on/Standby and 3.5mm heaphone jack adorn the top with the Micro USB connector center bottom. The built in GPS Navigator has been a life saver reducing the number of maps I need to print, plus the ability to use WiFi versus the mobile network to save from running up data overages. The plethora of applications is mind boggling. They've made everyday tasks so much easier as well helping me keep in touch with friends, family and co-workers with various apps no matter where I may be. All of this running on a 1GHZ processor that hasn't once broken a sweat. On the entertainment side of the Desire I am amazed at the options for video, audio as well as streaming media such as apps for youtube, streamcast, DivX and even a WinAmp app for audio that lets you copy songs from your media library over WiFi. My Desire came equipped with an 8GB memory card which is plenty at this time for storage although it's nice to know come memory crunch time I can swap out the memory for a larger memory card (up to 32GB).The Desire comes equipped with a 5 megapixel camera which doubles as a camcorder. With ample light picture quality is very good, but suffers when indoors or in low light. The camcorder on the other hand is not to be taken seriously. While you can get high quality with a 720p option the jerky motion of the video is unbearable. Great if your taking still video, not so great if capturing on the go.The Desire was offered in a unique package with a USB to Micro USB cable which is also used by the wall charger, and a rather useless pair of headphones. Powered by a 1400mAh Lithium Ion battery that fully charges in under four hours from the wall outlet, or a steady trickle charge by way of USB. Battery life for the Desire is taking some getting used to needing to be recharged every day with WiFi and heavy use.My phones service provider is USCellular and the Desire is running Android 2.1 at the moment. There are some gripes I have that may be related to the Desire, the Android 2.1 operating system and/or my service provider or they may just be common to all smartphones in general. In my opinion the HTC Desire is a well rounded device and armed with the Android OS appears to have no limits.

Very good phone

It is an improves Nexus one design on the hardware side, but a custom skin on top of the bare Android on the software side. Hardware-wise, its simple and elegant looks is quite 'Desirable' to many. There is really not much you can do with a touch slate design if you're going for a minimalistic approach. I actually enjoy and like it when manufacturers stick with a specific design language for their devices. It makes it easier to identify what company it is from. And this Desire is unmistakable from HTC. It works well and comes with more advanced features like video and media. It is Android strength to have lots of free or ads-supported media and apps on the marketplace. However, premium pay apps are not that abundant on the android front due to most people are not accustomed to paying. It is the small brother of the famous Evo 4G and they both are well designed phone. Sense is love and hate affair for most people since it delays the OS upgrade but make the user interface more pleasant to user.

HTC - Desire Cell Phone

2

Pros: The pros it has good call quality, sound, speaker phone, never had any problems with dropped calls or anything of the sort. It has very decent battery life, too. Music is good.Cons: Everything else. Terrible keyboard, camera, proximity sensor that turns off screen, cheeking the 'end' button mid call. It seems very slow compared to phones that came out merely one to two months later. Worst is the fact they ship every single unit with a crappy headphone jack that results sound to garble. I want to play lots of movies and it doesn't really handle the movie quality I am looking for. I wouldn't recommend this phone at all. It's not worth the buy. There are several phone out there to buy. Take a look around and find one with a lot of reviews and good reviews. I have like some HTC phones like the Touch Pro 2 in the past but didn't really care for Windows Mobile 6.1. I think HTC is coming a long way with these phone and will get it right soon compared to the Apple iphone. I have to say that I hate Apple but you know what you're going to get with them. I not too big a fan of itunes so it leads me way from them.
