miserable excuse for customer service

I wouldn't think basic customer service was an unreasonable expectation... until my experience with HP. I called for a routine servicing of my laptop under the 1-year warranty. And my miserable adventure began. After 90 minutes and innumerable representatives (most outsourced), I finally got them to agree to send me a FedEx box to ship my computer in. Expected arrival, one day. Expected turnaround, 7-10 days.

The box never arrived. I called to see what happened, and they never put in the order. Pissed off, I spent another hour fixing their previous screwup. Then the computer won't arrive when I need it, so I demand compensation. A few emails to their "total care" are almost laughable in their idiocy - address me by the wrong name (they even managed to misspell the wrong name they used), useless platitudes not answering the question... misery. Another 60 minutes of fighting through "supervisor" and "floor manager" until finally I get to Corporate Case Management. The first competent person in my now-three-week HP odyssey. Or so I thought.

She promised to refund my extended service plan. Two weeks later I call to see why the refund hasn't shown up on my credit card. Oh, it couldn't be completed. Sorry. Three more weeks have elapsed while she "looked into what could be done". I called yesterday and was told she was "busy." No call back. Issue still unresolved. If this is what passes for customer service, I can't believe this company stays in business. Unbelievable.

My HP computer worked great...until it became an 8 lb POS... So i get online and chat with a HP care person. They tell me that it needs to be looked at by a tech, So they ship me a box and a label. So i get it around a week later. I waited a little bit to send my computer in, it being around xmas and all i didnt want fedex messing it up. So right after xmas i send my computer in. When i go to see the status of it. HP website says my order has been canceled. So my computer will not get fixed and im having the hardest time getting it returned to me. This one rep on the phone got very snappy and actually asked me what have i been doing with my time... I found him asking questions about my life just plain crazy. He is not there to ask question that do not matter to him he is supost to be our information point. I really hate this company...The computer works nice but if it breaks good luck. You probably will be buying a new one. Hopefully not from HP.
