The HP Touchsmart tm2 is a great tablet...with only a few issues

4

The HP touchsmart tm2 is a great tablet. The build quality, as compared to most HP computers, is exceptional, at least as far as the case goes. The metal case looks great, and the swivel mechanism is very solidly built. The speakers are excellent, and the screen is pretty high quality. The chiclet keyboard is very easy to use and feels great, and the touchscreen is very responsive. My biggest complaint with the computer so far has been with the operating system. Windows is just frustrating, and still freezes up frequently. My other complaint is that occasionally the screen freezes in a certain orientation, and can be frustrating to correct when it does. I wish the screen was responsive to tilt so it decides on orientation. The battery life is fair for the most part if you use lower power settings, and it is nice if you have the ATI graphics card. The hard drive is nice and large, and the computer runs pretty speedily for the most part. I wish the computer had an internal optical drive, but the external CD/DVD drive is very nice.

A great HP touchsmart laptop with the touch feature IS justGREAT

The Hp touchsmart tm2 is on the of the mosting amazing laptops i have ever seen for several reasons. I personally like to be different i like to have different things than everybody else. The laptop is just that! I dont like MAC at all. This laptop doesnt look physically great but because of the touch feature it becomes perfect. Its cute and small but not too small. I thought the 12'' screen would be too small but its not. Its a good computer. I like the touch response. windows 7 works great on it. It has many applications and programs to use. I love that. Internet explorer and other normal programs work fine. The computer did freeze several times which is annoying. HPs customer service sucks really bad. THey actually lied to me and when i got my laptop replaced because it was their problem it kept heating up, they charged me more and lied about it when i talked to someone else. They are suck so if u dont care for touchscreen, dont get hp because hp sucks. I hate them but i like this laptop.. so.. yah.

I love this and it's touch screen. I kept wanting to touch the screen of my old one (like I thought that would work) and said they really ought to make a touch screen. Works great!  I think the sound quality is good. My daughter and I both use this laptop and it works great for what we are both doing. She needs it for school and friends I need it to play on too. Also love that the screen turns around so you can show someone what your doing . You don't have to turn the whole thing around. also you turn the screen and flip it down and you can draw or take notes. It has a little pen that holds into the side and you can take that out and write right on top of it. It aslo has great graphics. She loves taking pictures and putting them on there. The screen is so clear. The only down side is you get finger prints on it and you have to wipe them off every now and then. I would say this laptop is a pretty good all around laptop.

HP TouchSmart Tx2 Notebook PC...Sucks!

2

**I saw the HP TouchSmart Tx2 Notebook PC on a late night infomercial and decided to buy it. I was very excited when I initially got it. It was small, sleek just what I needed for travel. After a few months several keys fell off which I had to send to HP to get replaced. The power strip also stopped working after a about three months. The battery life is very short so you better have a power source for travel. If you play on-line games this is not the laptop to play on. It is very slow on gaming sites. I do however like the touch and swivel screen and pen feature which very convenient.  Performance unfortunately falls short, Basic office applications run well, but more resource hungry programs grind things to a halt. Fan noise is unbearable. Between the fan noises, a heavy chassis, a bloated software suite, and the sweltering processor, it's tough to recommend the TX2z as a primary laptop, let alone a tablet.I really just wish the touch interface did its thing a bit more briskly.  **

The HP TouchSmart tm2 is the best, I love touchscreen

The HP TouchSmart tm2 is the best laptop I have ever had, I honestly can say that more touch screen laptop's should be made. It makes simple things such as taking notes in my college classes easy because i can just go to paint and write and write and write, also another feature I like about this laptop is that the paint feature is at its prime. i can actually draw what i wish, and how i wish it to come out. Also the touch screen games are fun to do like the blackboard game, thats fun because you can drag the objects onto the blackboard itself. The zoom feature is excellent on this laptop, i can drag my fingers inward and outwards to control the zoom function which is cool because it beats having to click on the fullscreen button for movies. I like the fact that the screen rotates a full 180 degrees and that it can fold down and be used like an actual notebook to write. what would be a better incorporated addition to this laptop would be if there was an actual program in which one could write actual notes like maybe Microsoft Office 2010 TouchNote, or something like that, the extensive memory which this laptop has is great for storing capabilities. Somethings can be worked on like the fact that it doesn't come with a disk drive or a dvd drive either. The camera is a good feature on the other hand. overall its a good laptop to have.

The touchsmart laptop is alright for making art, so i'm content.

I bought this computer because I wanted a touchscreen so that I could make better digital art, since I can see what I'm drawing underneath my pen. I managed to get a version of Photoshop along with the computer, which was nice, but it turned out not to have some of the capabilities I wanted. Other people who have borrowed this laptop from me seem to get frustrated with the minor glitches that pop up little warning windows rather often, but when you're the main user of the computer you get used to that pretty fast. It's aggravating sometimes, but I've managed to get to the point where the settings I put in stay, and it's only when someone else uses it that things (like the size of the desktop icons or the resolution, or whether it locks when it goes to sleep) get messed up. I personally have gotten to like it a lot, as the keyboard is quite comfortable, and the layout is pretty easy to get the hang of. I have used it for games, and it runs the graphics fast enough for me, but I'm not an avid gamer. I also use it for school assignments, and I have gotten used to using microsoft word, which is a bit tricky after being a mac user before. One of the biggest problems that I've had is that it seems to have little heart attacks every now and then, if I have the power cord in. The mouse icon zooms up to the top right corner and no matter how I try to move it, it stays there. Sometimes it even closes windows that I had open. I've figured that it seems to have something to do with where the laptop is (if it's on my lap vs. on a table), and sometimes if I pull out the power cord it'll stop. Other than that, I like the touchscreen, and as a regular laptop it's nice too. I'm not picky, so it's definitely fast enough for me, and I don't plan on replacing it for a while.

ABSOLUTELY AWESOME

When I first received this product, I was unbelievably enthusiastic and overwhelmingly excited not just because it was new and it was the original computer that I wanted when I first started checking out computers, but I was overwhelmed because my other HP Laptop, the dv5210 had just been stolen unfortunately 2 weeks before my birthday,so imagine my surprise when this one, the HP TouchSmart Laptop arrived 5 days before my birthday. It was like receiving one of the greatest gifts ever. It came in handy for school and miscellaneous activities, but the best part of having this new laptop was the fact that screen lays down so that you can write on it, and check this out...After you wrote what you wanted, the computer then converts what you wrote into text on the computer as if you just typed, and you didn't have to touch any of the keys on your keyboard. With iTunes on this computer, it creates multiple playlist like a virtual DJ utilizing the Genius Mechanism. Just like I mentioned before, this laptop is Absolutely Awesome.
