Best printer ever!

5

I love this printer.  I bought it 3 months ago because mine broke and I had to have one that same day so it was sort of an impulse purchase.  I found it online at a retail store for a great price, purchased it and went and picked it up.  I was so happy when I got home to find that it had even more features than I thought.  You don't have to have your computer on to use it because it has it's own screen and all controls on the printer itself.  It has memory card slots right on the printer for all memory card types so you just stick your memory card in the printer and the photos come up on the printer's screen.  It's controls are easy to understand and use.  It has a holder in the tray for photo paper.  The photos that it prints look great.  You can use it to print on printable CDs and DVDs or labels.  You can make the labels or import pictures and such from your hard drive to put on them.  When you click on the computer icon in your system tray for the printer, the printer computer controls come up and it shows you approximately how much ink you have left.  The printer cartridges are cheaper than most other printers, but for me they don't last very long.  I do print a lot though so for the occasional user they would probably last a long time.  You can buy their XL version of their ink cartridges, but of course they are almost double the price of the regular cartridges.

Great features but many problems

So my mother-in-law has this priter at ehr house and at first i loved it.  Its all in one capability is so great for anything you could imagine.  From printing to scanning, and copying, this printer does it all.  It has a nice and easy seu up and installation and even has a great icon menue to further help you understand what feature does what... which is rally good for my mother-in-law considering she knows very little abot computers.  Plus the picture that you print out are of good quality and print out rather fast comparede to other printers I have dealt with.  But there is dark at the end of this because every time I turn around there is something wong with it.  Sometimes it just up and doesnt work at all and you would have to turn it off and let it sleep for a while before it desides it wants to work.  Other times it wont ead that there is paper in the tray even if its filled... It has a mind of its own and I would not recommand dealing with it unless you already own one.

HP Photosmart is great printer, but uses up ink much too quickly

This printer has great color which makes printing photos a snap - they look professional and clean.  The separate tray for photopaper is convenient so that you can go back and forth between photos and paper print jobs without having to reload.  The CD tray for printing labels is handy and easy to use.  With the software that comes with the printer, it is easy to use the scanner.  Although the scans of photos do not seem to be of the highest quality.  You can see the texture of a matte finish photo when it is scanned.  But I haven't found any problems when scanning documents.  The printing speed is pretty quick, considering it isn't a laserjet. The biggest pro for me is definitely that the photos print quality is so high (if you have a full ink cartridge).  The biggest con is the speed by which the ink cartridges empty.  The printer came with a regular size cartridge and I emptied it in 1.5 months (my previous HP non-photo printer required new ink maybe twice a year).  When I realized how expensive buying HP ink would be, I started buying the XL ink cartridges through Cartirdge World.  Much more economical, although I still think I end up buying way too much ink.

Rage-inducing purchase.

It's hard for me to give a fair review because I've been so dissatisfied with this printer. At first, I thought this would be a great buy because it had everything I needed and a nice rebate. Well, I've already had to send one back for replacement and got such a run around from customer service, and the second one has problems of its own. With the first - the scanner just stopped working out of the blue probably a month after I hooked it up. We just sort of lived with it for a while because we didn't scan too many things to begin with, but after a while all these other problems started creeping up. For instance, it would constantly prompt me to reinstall the driver on my desktop for seemingly no reason at all, and then things would go haywire if I accidentally said yes. We finally had to send it back for a replacement (which was a huge hassle) and already, I've noticed problems with the new one. I picked up some printable blank CDs and the never before used CD-printer does not work. I HATE THIS PRINTER.

My favorite printer ever

5

I have to say this is my favorite printer I've had up to this point.  Obviously, the best part is that it's an All-In-One.  I love being able to copy documents in my own home for free!  This printer has easy to use buttons on the front so you can scan and copy without touching your computer.  You can even put in a memory card to print your photos right then and there.  The red eye removal feature is really great for a quick print.  The quality is very good, although I recommend using a photo cartridge for your photos for that extra bit of quality.  Another cool feature is the CD/DVD printer where you can print on a special CD/DVD.  It's nice not to have to deal with the label maker I have in past.  Although it does suck when you mess up the design after its printed!  My only complaint is that you must have two cartridges in at all times in order to utilize the front buttons.  Otherwise all that comes up on the screen is a warning saying you need a second cartridge.  I went through a period when I had 3 or 4 color cartridges and refused to buy a black.  It was annoying to try and copy or scan because I basically couldn't.  I have yet to figure a way around it.

HP Photosmart C5280, its reliable and very easy to use.

I bought this printer, HP Photosmart C5280, to replace 2 printers that I used for the same purpose. Back in the day I had a regular printer for everyday printing and a photo printer for printing my photos. I hated having 2 printers, they took up so much room on my desk. I couldn't wait for one of the printers to go so I could justify buying a new one. I bought this one about a year and and a half ago. It has been wonderful and very reliable. I use it a lot to print documents for a golf outing my husband and I host. It is asked to do a lot of printing for this outing and it is working great. No complaints at all. I also like the idea of being able to print directly on a CD. Great feature.

Although I like the quality of the print on this printer, I have problems with it disconnecting from my computer.  It then reinstalls, and I wind up with numerous options (i.e. copy 12) when I go to print something.  I always have to remember which copy it said when I turned it on.  I think its a glitch in the software somewhere, because it then ask me to register again.  Although I always click "Don't remind me" it does anyhow!  I'm not a techie, so I just deal with it.

The HP Photosmart C5280 has great color quality.

The HP Photosmar C5280 All in One Printer Scanner Copier has great photo copying quality.  It is slow on scanning quality photos and documents, however the program is flexible enough that I can change the size and quality requirements for work purposes.  I just wish it had a feeder tray for multiple pages.

The HP Printer is a lifesaver in our home

5

My father bought me this printer for my birthday 2 years ago and it is AWESOME.  I think he got tired of me using the printer at his office and now I can print a lot of what I need here at home.  The quality is great.   My husband and I love the photos that we can print off of this printer.  We have been able to give family pictures to take home the day they came over to visit.  The ink cartridges are not that expensive.   However, they do not have as much ink as other printer cartridges have had from previous printers that we have owned.  I have been able to efficiently copy business labels, school reports, homeschool papers, and so much more.  This printer was on sale when my dad bought it for me and I have seen it on sale many times since.  It is definitely worth the money and is lasting us well.  It also has a place to insert cd/dvd's and view them off of the printer also.  If you are working out of your home in any capacity this is definitely a great buy.

This all in one printer HP 5280 works fine until it needs ink.

This printer works very well until it runs out of ink in one of it's ink containers. After that it shows an error message, and won't start again. It won't even print with just the other inks. We've searched online and the only thing we can do is send it back to be fixed. That's what the HP people said on the phone, too. I also don't like that it doesn't hold very much paper at one time. The pictures and color work very well. And I do like that you can print things in black only, and change the reslultion. I will never buy a hewlit-packard again. No matter how well it works when it's working, I can't use it when it isn't working and being sent away to be fixed. I know that there are quite a few other people who have had the same problem. It might have been easier to be fixed if we bought it locally, but we bought it online. I didn't like the program it used for scanning items to a catalogue. I'm not sure if it  would be a problem with all pcs, or if it was just with Windows Vista.
