Decent printer for casual use

3

I use this printer for college to print out homework, applications, etc. I runs out of ink quickly and after a couple times replacing the ink, I stopped using it and began printing at school instead. I had to replace the ink twice in one school quarter. I do not know if it is because I overuse it, but I do not think I do. However, besides that, it works. It can do copies and is very simple to do so with editing functions when you scan in case you want to alter the document. I cannot get the "ink test" message to disappear, however. I always just skip it, but it appears every time I turn it on. I do the ink test, but it does not go away. It really annoys me, but nonetheless this printer works. It is a "photo" printer, but I have never printed photos before. Performance Works fairly well Copy Quality It does the job Ink/Paper Use The ink cartridge wastes pretty quickly. Keep having to replace and is quite costly Durability I have an HP computer too and I find that HP products have great hardware, however, the exterior build is poorly constructed.

HP c4795 not up to par

1

We bought this printer several months ago to go with our new mac. I have been nothing but frustrated. It is a wireless printer, but it can't handle anything large or with graphics, such as coupons. It gets bogged down, then stops printing all together. Every now and then we can retrieve lost jobs (with much annoying procedure), but sometimes they are lost. When we hardwire it, it does somewhat better, but it still sometimes spits out the paper with the job only half done - the bottom half of the paper will be blank. We cannot figure out why it does this. Sometimes it will finish the job several minutes later - or reprint it completely. It is also extremely slow. It will stop printing for a minute or two, mid-job, then finish the job. Overall, I am not pleased with this printer at all. It has caused me much frustration.

HP C4795 All-in-one printer, wireless and wonderful.

Hewlett Packard has always been my printer of choice. I began "couponing" just about 3 months ago and I would guess I print 50% of the coupons I use from online sites. I am a home maker who is trying to help save money and make wise financial decisions for our family. I was so pleasantly  surprised when for Christmas my techie son and dear husband gave me this HP C4795 Photosmart All-in-one wireless printer.  Now I enjoy the comfort of snuggling up on the sofa and browsing the web. When I find a coupon to print I simply print from where I am. Before I had to go to the desk, plug my laptop into the printer and then print coupons.  The wireless feature is my favorite. Plus this printer has touch screen controls which read out exactly what I need in case of a problem. For example when I run out of paper, it tells me and I just put in new paper and touch "OK."  I do consider myself somewhat techie compared to a lot of my friends but I believe this printer would be easy for anyone to adapt to very easily.

This hp photosmart printer is okay.

I purchased this printer to network it with my wireless desktop and laptop as well as printing photos for a reasonable price. Scanning documents is very easy. The on-screen instructions are very easy to follow. It is a great printer if you just want to print out reports in black and white or color, and scan documents and photos. The HP media smart photo tool is great for cropping, and rotating photos. I print a lot of reports and documents with clear printing results. However, the printing quality for photos is not what I expected. The prints are grainy and dull. They are not at all as vibrant as the sales rep insured me they would be. The ink seems to run low very quickly and I have to change it constantly. The wireless feature is not too difficult to set up, but I decided it was not necessary. I probably would not purchase a wireless printer in the future. This is my first hp printer and I probably will not consider purchasing this brand in the future. I am used to a different brand and will probably replace this printer with the other brand.

HP C4795 All-in-one Printer works great

5

We just recently purchase the Hewlett Packard C4795 All-in-one Wireless printer and I am so far very happy with it. The printer scans, faxes, prints, copies etc and has a relatively small footprint as well as being fairly lightweight. I absolutely love that this printer works wirelessly so i have it in a corner in my kitchen and I don't need to walk over and connect a cable to my laptop every time I want to do something like I had to do with my previous printer. This HP is a photosmart printer and really does print nice pictures in addition to being able to fax and scan and the rest of it. One of the things that I really like about this printer is that it uses less than 1 watt of energy while it is in off mode so I don't have to run and plug it in whenever I need to do something. I leave it plugged in and it wakes up when I need it to and then powers back down when I'm done. The printer cartridges are also fairly eco-friendly as they use a good amount of recycled plastic.

I always end up with a mediocre printer, including this HP.

I have bad luck picking out printers. Because of this, I've resorted to just buying the cheap printers, instead of spending tons of money on crappy printers. At least when I find out the printer is crap I won't feel as bad if it was cheap. This printer from HP is no different. Sure the design is very sleek and much nicer than other printers, but I've had tons of problems with it already and it's only been 2 months. The first one I bought was defective and wouldn't even set up properly. I returned it and got another one, but that one had the same problem. I went to the HP website and found out that the software was already outdated. I thought, great. Here we go again. HP provided and update link and at least the printer started working. I've never been able to set up the wireless capabilities on it. It does not scan either. The printer frequently tells me that I am out of paper when it is clearly full and properly placed. I press okay and it resumes printing although I did not do anything to the paper. I lost the receipt, otherwise I would have returned the piece of crap.

Best Printer I have ever purchased!

5

I bought this printer because of its ability to connect with my wireless network.  I am very pleased with my purchase!! This printer is the very best I have ever had.  It does it all, prints wirelessly, scanns documents, copies, prints pictures, and you can even plug your memory card from your digital camera directly into the printer and print photos from it.  I also love the ability to make copies of documents without even needing to turn my computer on, theres a touch screen pad on the printer that allows you to use the copy and scan features without even using a computer.  It was very easy to setup.  The only flaw I have found is that it sometimes has an error when printing and just flashes the lights constantly until you turn it off and then back on.  Fortunately it resumes printing after you turn it back on, without resending the printing job.

Great printer but beware of ink costs

3

I bought this printer for its all around capabilities, price and looks.  Wireless setup was easy, but if I hadn't had the wifi, the cord provided wouldn't even quite reach from the computer to the printer on opposite ends of my desk.  The print quality is very good, but my only complaint is in the rate that it uses ink.  An HP #60 black ink cartridge is supposed to last 200 pages.  I know a "page" is subjective, but my ink seemed to go way too fast.  When I went to the HP website and read the reviews on the ink, I discovered that nobody was happy with this ink.  There is a 60XL black ink cartridge that is supposed to last 600 pages.  Again the reviews say you will get nowhere near that, but if you can get maybe 2.5 times the pages and the 60XL is only twice the price, that may be less painful.  I had never thought of checking ink reviews before buying a printer, but I certainly will in the future.  If you print a lot of pages, I don't think this is the printer for you.

Great printer!

I am very happy with the new printer.  Although I just got it 3 months ago, I have used it a lot for printing.  It prints very good quality and I am amazed at how quickly it prints, especially when the quality is decreased and put on fast draft mode.  It is environmentally friendly with an off mode that uses less than one watt of energy and original HP 60 cartridge bodies that contain at least 50% recycled plastic.  The setup for wireless was so easy to do and walked me through it step by step.  This printer also has the ability of a touch screen which allows you to print photos and make copies without a PC.  The copier/scanner works great and shows promising quality.  Overall, I am looking for quality, easiness to use and good software - and this printer has all of that.  I don't have anything negative to say about the photosmart printer.  It is a very practical machine that produces good quality work.

Printing quality is good

5

My HP Photosmart C4795 all in one was purchased a year ago.  This is my first all in one printer that I have used.  So far the quality of the copies and printouts are good.  This printer gets a lot of use for my daughter's school work.  I have noticed that the ink does not last as long as my previous HP printer.
