I have had the HP Photosmart C5240 All-in-One printer for about three years now. I have not had any trouble with the printed images. One of the two main things that I don't like about it is as soon as I purchased it and started scanning pictures the pictures that were scanned onto the computer all had whites dots all over them. They were tiny and barely noticable but still there. The other thing that I do not like about the printer is the way it uses ink so very fast. I purchased this to be able to print pictures from home; but it is way too costly. The ink from one cartridge does not print many pictures and it is way less expensive just to have the pictures developed. It is good if you want to print pictures really fast without going to the store or waiting on them to come through the mail. You do not even need to have it hooked up to a computer because it has a memory card reader and screen on the printer where you can view the pictures. The normal pages I print from my computer print very well. The pictures I have printed with it print as good as anywhere else and are very high quality.

I really loved this printer. I have had it for over a year and a half and it was used when it came to me so I am not sure how long it has been in service. It was easy to set up and easy to use. Made some noise but not too much. Used ink at a reasonable rate. Photo quality was good but not lab quality. I don't try to print my photos at home any more so I did not use this printer to produce prints from digital media. Nor did I ever use the feature where it can print labels directly onto CDs and DVDs. Replacement ink cartridges are available for reasonable prices. The printer did compain if you used after market ink cartidges and it knew when you were using a generic or refilled cartridge. I am really dissapointed that it is now broken and will now work...however it has lasted me longer than most other printers have. Usually I only get about a year out of a printer before it stops working on me. I print every day, mostly a lot of coupons and things like homework and reports. I have put reams and reams of paper through this printer. This printer will be missed. In fact I was thinking of simply ordering the same model HP printer again. I imagine I would get at least 2 years or so of service out of a new one...maybe more. It is a little large but fits on top of my filing cabinet just fine. One drawback is you can't fit legal size paper on the scanner window. Another draw back is that it doesn't have FAX capabilities. Other than that I really liked this printer and would not hesitate to recomend it to a person looking to purchase a printer. It can also be used as a stand alone copier and photo printer without being hooked up to a computer. It has card reader slots for all the most common memory cards. I hope this review was helpful to somebody in deciding on a good printer to buy.
