quite a few problems

3

I have had this printer for about two years now and although I loved the cheap cost of it, this is a case of you get what you pay for. Firstly, I feel like it runs through ink entirely too much. I barely print except for the few times I have to print stuff for school yet I feel like I am constantly buying new ink. I do notice the ink lasts longer when I buy off brand ink for my printer versus buying HP brand ink. I have my printer hooked up to several different electronic products and you'd think that because it's wireless it would actually work as wireless, right?! WRONG. No matter what I do I feel like I have to go to through extra steps in order to print wirelessly, including uninstalling and reinstalling the software several times. Also, when I use the scanner and try to save the scanned paperwork to my flashdrive sometimes it recognizes my memory card and sometimes it doesn't. More times than not it does NOT recognize my memory card though. Not sure about other users but when I use my printer sometimes my printed papers come out splotchy or faded as though I am running out of ink even if I have more than enough ink.

HP Photosmart printer is a great value and high quality

The HP Photosmart has been very reliable and easy to use. The quality of printing and ease of use is wonderful. Performance It has performed extremely well with no problems whatsoever for the year that I've owned it. Copy Quality It creates beautiful pictures and high quality letters and documents. Great for copying and printing. Ink/Paper Use I had a little trouble with inserting the ink cartridges the first time, but it was my first time to install ink, so it could have just been me. The ink cartridges that come with the computer do not seem to last very long. Ease of Use I have had no problems using this printer at all with the exception of my first time inserting the ink cartridges. Durability It has proven to last well and has had no problems in the last year. I have never tried really large printing job, so I am unsure of its capabilities in this respect. Design I love the design. It seems to be a high quality printer. The pictures, honestly, could not be better.

The only thing that holds this back is the amount of ink it uses (although not a lot more, definitely more than normal) but other than that, this thing is really nice. Performance All around this thing does everything it needs to do, and there are no major problems with this. And its pretty speedy if you have to print like a 100 pages for work. Copy Quality The copy quality is pretty nice and its nice to be able to change the size of your copy. Ink/Paper Use I think that this thing uses up quite a bit of a ink, which is pretty costy. But I don't think a lot more than the normal amount, so not enough to not get this. Ease of Use This is a pretty easy product to use and doesn't require much base knowledge about printers to use this, although I would get a different one if you don't know squat about printers. Durability Although mine still works, this thing feels flimsy, especially when lift up the copy door or the door to get at the cartridges. It works just fine if you have it on your desk, but if you're going to move it a lot I would get something else. Design I really like the design with the touchscreen to do basic things, which is really nice, and being able to put an sd card in is convenient for scanning old photos and putting them on there.

HP Photosmart 5510 e-All-In-One Printer

This is a very good printer for the price. It gets the job done and doesn't take up too much space in the work area. Performance Responds quickly to commands and performs tasks in a timely fashion. It also produces good quality copies, print pages, and photos. Copy Quality Obviously not as sharp as a laser printer, but the copy quality is good for an ink jet printer.I would rate the performance as more than acceptable. Ink/Paper Use This printer seems as good as any in its use of ink, doesn't seem to run out too fast especially with a choice of grades for printing. I also appreciate that there are only 2 ink cartridges to change when necessary. Ease of Use This printer was very easy to set up and the functions are easy to understand and use. Getting connected for wireless printing was much easier than I had expected or experienced with other printers. Durability So far it seems to be holding up well with normal use. I have had no issues with parts failing or getting out of adjustment. However the printer hasn't been abused by dropping it or other rough use. Design I like the design, looks good on the desk and controls are easily accessible.

This printer is a beast.

Sure this printer runs through in kind of fast but I'm ok with that. I love it's sleek, modern design. What I love most is that when I print something with a larger design, it doesn't cake the paper up with ink and leave it wet. Also, when printing a grand amount of pages, it spits them out rapidly, yet the ink job is always right. The only problem I have is that it lags when you want to print something so sometimes I have restart it.

A good printer but an ink eater.

We have had this printer for just over a year. Overall, it's a good printer. It can do a lot but we mostly use it for copy, print and scan. There is an easy to use and easy to read touch screen on the front which makes it easy to choose your preferences, check your ink and troubleshoot. It also has a feature to clean the ink heads which has been helpful in keeping print quality good. The tray on the printer is very convenient, it slides out to put in paper and can adjust easily to put in smaller paper or photo paper and hold it in place. The biggest con to this printer, and for us it's a big one, is that it goes through ink so fast. Ink is not cheap and it seems to disappear far sooner than necessary with only moderate use. The other con to this printer is that it's big. Yes, it's a scanner and can adequately scan larger documents, but I think it's bigger than necessary. Printing quality has been good from documents to photos. It's not professional quality photos but it is good quality. Overall, I'm satisfied with this printer but wish I would have done a little more research before purchasing. It works, it prints and scans and has good features but for us the ink issues is a big downfall.

I can use my tablet and smart phone to print!

I bought this printer because I wanted something that would work seamlessly with my iPad, iPhone, and hp computer. This is perfect and the set for e printing takes less then 5 minutes, plus u don't have to go through an app to do it. No more wasted pages because the layout go tweaked by my printing app. Additionally I can now print coupons with coupons.com from all 3.

Easy to use and cheap on ink.

This copier is great for everyday home office needs. Kids are always needing something scanned for school and it does it all. Performance Printer is great and easy to use. The only problem is I hate everytime I need to change the ink cartidges I have to print an alignment page. Copy Quality The copy quality can't be beat. It makes very clear and vibrate colored photos that I would compare with Wal-Mart or Walgreens. So just buy the photo paper at your discount store and print your own photos. The only problem is trying to print different sizes of photos is somewhat of a problem. Somebody with better understanding of photo shop might can figure it out. Ink/Paper Use It uses about the norm on ink but I always by the XL cartridges and they really do last at least twice as long if not more. Ease of Use Very easy just put in the disk and follow the instructions on installation. Durability Haven't had any problems with the durability of the machine. I have jammed paper in it several times and its very easy to take out the jammed paper. Design Very small and compact for little space to be taken up!!!! Love that for a home office.

The HP 5510 Multifunction Printer is a good choice for home use.

This printer replaced my HP c-309g, which only lasted a few years due to a print head problem. I've had this printer for about 9 months and so far I am very happy with it. Performance The scan and copy functions are somewhat slow, but overall I am very satisfied with the performance. The wireless feature is very useful when I want to print from my laptop that's in a different area of our house. It prints faster than any printer I've previously had for home use. Copy Quality The scans are crisp and clear and the colors are perfect. The copies I make are identical to the originals. I am very pleased with the quality of the photos I've printed. They are just as good, if not better, as the photos I've printed at the kiosk in a drug store. Ink/Paper Use Printing photos uses a lot of ink. The length of time a cartridge lasts is somewhat erratic. One thing I dislike is the printer refuses to work if I install a used cartridge. A few months ago, I wanted to print several pictures and was afraid I would run out of blue ink halfway through a photo, so I replaced the cartridge with a brand new one with the intent of putting the other one back in to use for general printing, but when I reinstalled the old cartridge I got an error message. It did however, let me reinstall the one I had used to print the photos. I have never tried to use a refilled cartridge they sell at office supply stores, but that could also be a problem. Ease of Use The wireless function was very quick and easy to set up. The touch screen is a bit small but works very well. The paper tray holds a good amount of paper and there is a piece that slides out from the tray to catch the paper after it has printed. Durability I've only had the printer for nine months, but I haven't had any problems so far. Design The printer is about 5-1/2 inches high, so it doesn't overwhelm my desk. Although it has slots for memory cards, it does not have a USB input, so files from work that I saved on a flash drive have to be printed through my computer instead of directly from the printer.
