As a sole professional, I have always used hp all-in-one products based on good reviews and experience.  That is until now.  My last all-in-one failed and after many calls to hp tech support (which is awful), they sent me a replacement.  It was a refurbished upgrade (according to hp).  The photosmart 2610 has not worked correctly since day 1.  I had to make 5 copies of an item and since then, will always make 5 copies unless I remember to change it.  The printing from the pc is always whatever the program decides to print.  Also, since changing the size of a copied item to larger, now my printer is also stuck at that size. I am currently looking to replace this piece of ---.  Maybe with an epson I have read good reviews for.

The HP Photosmart 2610 is a low-end all-in-one.  It lacks a document feeder, which makes scanning, faxing and copying multi-page documents much more of an ordeal than it should be.  The paper feed is the usual tiny HP paper tray that curls the paper around as it feeds, so that you never know (a) which way to place the paper if you are printing, for example, on letterhead, or (b) whether the paper will jam. The biggest issues I have had with the printer revolve around ink usage.  Like all the other HP printers I have had, color ink comes in a single cartridge.  When one color runs out, you throw away the remaining ink in the other two colors and replace all three.  Dumb idea (at least for the consumer - if you are HP, I suppose it is a way to maximize ink sales...and let's face it, ink sales are where all the profits are for printer manufacturers).  The printer also seems to use much more ink than my Epsons, and the ink cartridges are more expensive.  Go figure! All in all, I have been very disappointed with this printer - to the point where I stopped buying HP for my office and have switched to Epson.

This is the second HP Photosmart printer I have owned but the first all in one.  I wore out my last photosmart printer.  I have owned 3 other HP printers before that.  All of them were excellant.  Very easy to operate, excellant print quality and dependable.  Very few problems with their performance and most of the problems were caused by me.  My all in one 2610 is by far the best.  I love the speed, the quality of the printing whether I am printing photos or documents.  I do not need 4 different machines to perform the duties of my all in one.  It is so easy to use.  You do not need to know anything about computers or printers to be able to use this. Even if you are extremely computer challenged this will not confuse or fluster you.  Hp makes it so easy.  Now if they can only do something about the cost of ink.....................
