Upon first receiving my HP TX2500z tablet I was extremely pleased.  It worked wonderfully once I turned off all of the annoying and unneccesary Windows Vista features that bog down the interface and deleted all of the bloatware. This computer is decent for graphic design applications and worked great for a little over a year.  After the warranty expired, the hard drive began to fail.  I eventually had to switch operating systems and used Linux so that I could still access all of my important files.  This was because windows ceased recognizing the hard disk.  I used it like this for a few months while I saved up for a solid state drive (which I am also writing a review for) and now it has a second lease on life. Since replacing the original hard drive with a solid state one, the HP TX2500z is faster than it ever was before.  It boots up fast and it shuts down very quickly as well.  Install times are much faster too.  Bottom line: If you are seriously considering purchasing an HP, then you should also invest in an extended warranty.
