Internal power cord keeps burning up!

HP Pavilion M8000N Desktop Computer —
I have only owned it since ausgust of 08. I have replaced the internal power cord 3 times and everytime the computer burns it up. Was told nothing anyone could do and I should just relace the pc. Sad....
