HP Support sucks. Before the merger they were great. Not now.
In the beginning this was a great piece of hardware for the money, albeit anemic on the memory side. But that was my fault for being in such a hurry to take it home. When MS came out with the 64bit version of XP, I wanted to migrate to it. HP does not and will not support it. Neither will they provide drivers. It also does not support "Boot from USB", which is a vital feature when your internal disc drive no longer reads media. I want to upgrade to Windows 7 64 bit now, but I have to wait until I have the extra money to buy a second hard drive and go through a whole rigamorale to do so. If it had boot from usb support, I could upgrade with ease. So, in the long run, this HP Pavilion, DV8309us was not worth the price I paid for it.
