This printer is awesome!

I purchased the HP1610 All-In-One printer at the recommendation of a friend due to the relatively inexpensive cost of toner.  I'm so glad i did!   I do a lot of scanning but the best part is the quality of the color prints I can make.  I use it most often to print pictures (when I need just one extra picture for my scrapbook page) or for color pictures for my card making.  The pictures I print for cards are vibrant and beautiful -- generally pictures of flowers in my garden. I would say the only negative is that I have to re-install the software occasionally - at times the scanner/copier stops functioning.  But it's not difficult to do!

Love this printer!

This is a great printer, I've had it for over a year already. It's an all in one printer so it scans, copies, and prints! The quality of prints is really great and prints pretty fast. There's an option to printing faster compared to fine, and speed printing looks just as great! So it's fast and does great prints! You can connect a memory card for easy printing such as SM, XD, MS, CF, SD or connect via USB. The display will not let you preview the picture, but you can tell the printer which pictures to print. Copying and scanning is so easy, the buttons are all there and all you need to do is press them. You can color scan/copy or do it black and white all with a press of a button. The best thing I love is the scanning. I've been scanning photos to put into a digital frame and it would be torture to scan pictures one by one or scanning multiple pictures and having to photoshop them. This machine's scanning option is really cool, I put four pictures in four corners and if there's empty space between them, the scanner will automatically detect it and seperate them into four different files! Ink is expensive though.. but which printer doesn't have expensive ink right? Overall a great printer, quality is great, the tools let you know how much ink is left and there's a lot of utilities to maintain and printer check ups.

great for home use and user friendly

This printer is great for home use and I would recommend it for college students or many of ones projects.  This HP al in one printer, scanner, copier model number HP PSC 1610V. If you are doing home work or just printing a letter the print quality is good. This all in one will copy in color or black and white and photos print well.  One thing to note is that you need to allow longer drying time for black ink when printing photos. I believe this is true with most self printing photos. Great for scrap booking as you can reduce or enlarge so if you want to put in a certificate and not take up the entire page just reduce and you ar good to go.  Will support other papers but of course working with the HP paper the quality is much better.  Price for replacement cartridges is not going to leave you broke.  Comes with good software so you can edit your photos or any item you may scan.  This printer also comes with multiple card reader so once you take the pictures you can transfer them very easily.  I would highly recommend this printer to anyone.  I really like the front loading paper and to switch from paper to envelopes is an easy transition.

Like this printer alot

I like this printer HP PSC 1610 All In ONE alot. I have had this printer for about six months. If that long. It has every thing a printer really needs and more. I would not change this printer for another one. It works fast and is easy to use. Plus, is easy to set up. The ink is a little bit expensive but it lastes a long time. The other printer I had, took along time to print something, plus the ink was expensive and did not last long at all.

Do not buy.

This review is for the HP PSC 1610 printer which incorporates a printer, scanner and copier.  This printer was purchased as a replacement for an old dying HP printer.  In the past I have been very happy with HP printers and decided to continue.  I have had this one about three years now and soon after the warranty ended it started to cause me problems.  The worst one is paper jams.  Then at times out of the blue the cartridges refuse to "move".  I can hear them attempt to move but nothing happens.  So thus I turn it off, let it set for a few minutes and then it will work fine as if nothing happened.  The other thing that is a major annoyance is that it will not print envelopes properly. I plan to look for another printer but it won't be this one for sure.

Great to have at your home/office

This HP is a printer, scanner, and copier all in one. It acts as just a regular inkjet printer if you need it to connecting to your pc via a usb cable, but it also can be used as a scanner to scan documents or images onto your computer, and also as a standalone copier, where it can copy photos and documents without being connected to a computer at all. The print quality is really good. Images and text print clearly and sharply. This psc has multiple settings, that include printing fast, normally, or with highest dpi for best quality. It has settings for both black and color, as well as slots where you can plug your digital camera or memory card directly into the printer without using a computer. Another great capability it has is the ability to reduce or enlargen an image or document when copying. This maching is durable, reliable, and has not given me any trouble in the almost five years that I have owned it. It gets used daily and is not showing any signs of stopping. It is a great item to have in your house, because it allows you to conveniently and quickly scan or copy an image or document on the spur of the moment and it is great quality.

Great Economical All-in-One Printer

The HP PSC 1610 All-in-One has is excellent when sticking to a budget.  It's relatively inexpensive, but produces quality print work.  Unfortunately, this model has been discontinued, but should you find yourself considering one...this will help. This is an inkjet printer, so the quality isn't the best, but it *is* good.  I've printed off resumes--sadly *many* copies--and feel confident handing them out.  Additionally, on the right setting (highest quality) I've printed beautiful photos.  The software that came with the printer was a bit slow.  Scanning takes a few (5-15) seconds depending on the quality and clarity of what you're scanning.  If you're impatient like I am, you may consider a faster machine or learn to multitask so you don't notice. At the front of the printer is a convenient array of ports from USB to connect a digital camera directly to the printer to card readers of various sizes.  I love editing my pictures before printing, so I've yet to use those ports, but I can certainly appreciate the convenience.  The HP PSC 1610 has a flatbed scanner, as opposed to a feed-through scanner which opens up the range of options you have.  You can scan pretty much anything.  Size matters though.  The bed only goes up to A4 sized paper (for all intents and purposes, you're limited to standard 8.5 X 11 scanning.  I recently learned that the cover is removable allowing me to better position things on the scanner and making room for scanning books. The copier works very well and you can easily make color or black and white copies with the push of a button. The HP PSC 1610 software allows you to print on both sides, but you must manually replace the sheets into the tray.  It doesn't have a duplexer.  In the future, I'll be getting a color laser printer, because my new business venture will require a higher print quality, but I'll be keeping my 1610 close by.  It's one of those products you don't love, but it treats you well and you can certainly respect it.
