Great For Small Business or Home Office

4

All-in-Ones are excellent choices if you have limited space as these types of machines do not clutter up the place with extra equipment and wiring.    The  HP L7680 offers  efficiency, good value and quality without alot of fuss and can be defined as a network printer in your home office or just for personal use.  The ink cartridges come in either regular or extra large capacity (also recyclable) and a 2-sided feeder tray is optionally available.    Also available as optional equipment is a second paper tray if you want to process large documents but the standard paper tray is usually more than sufficient for most jobs, Scanner software offers capability of reading either text, photo, or combination documents to a broad choice of file types .pdf, .txt, rtf, etc.  Copying speed averages 8-10 ppm depending on use of color.   Fax features also include speed dial, redial, manual dial and faxing in either color or black and white.   Easy to install and integrates well with Windows. This is my third all-in-one and I could never see myself having to battle with 4-5 different pieces of equipment.

HP L7680 has many features

4

This printer is great because it is truly an All-in-one printer. It has all the features you would need in an office or at home. It can print, scan, copy, and fax. The quality of print is decent. It could be better but photos turn out pretty well. It scans documents easily into the connected computer and copying is good. One issue with copying is sometimes it won't copy the last quarter inch of the right hand side of a document. This may result in needing to hand write a few letters onto the copied paper. Or you may have to tell the printer to make the copy 95% smaller than the original paper. Another issue is sometimes the paper feeder jams or feeds in multiple papers at one time. You may have to double check the number of papers you want copied versus the number of copies made. The printer might have ran two papers at once. However, despite these issues, I am happy with this printer and its capabiliites.

Works great and does everything!

We received the HP Officejet PRo L7680 All-in-One from a friend and I was somewhat skeptical about using it in our home. Partly because of it's size, and partly because it looked altogether too complicated. However, it has been a breeze to use and I love how it is able to do everything we need. It's easy to change out the ink catridges, and even quite simple to change the printhead when occasionally needed. I have been able to find GENUINE cartridges from a variety of sources quite inexpensively, so paying full retail price (which can be pricey!) is not necessary. We use the scan and copy options quite frequently, and they make life so much easier. No more trips to a copy center! One of my favorite scan options is the ability to scan to a memory device, such as a flash drive, and take the document to another computer to edit. I would highly recommend this device to anyone looking for a good all-in-one machine!

This is the printer to have

I have two desktops and 4 laptops networked to my HP Officejet pro, and haven't had any problems with it. It works swiftly and quietly, and is able to do all that I demand of it. The quality of its print is excellent, I'm very impressed with the HP Officejet Pro! If you don't have it you should get it.

The HP L7680 is the best inexpensive all-in-one color printerI

The HP Officejet Pro L7680 is a great tool for the home based business owner. It is relatively inexpensive; however, it is a top quality all-in-one printer. I have been impressed with the clarity of the documents I have scanned to e-mail to clients and the ease with which I can convert the documents to pdf files, save and e-mail them. The ink cartridges last far longer than I expected and are simple to replace. The printer is a workhorse and well worth the price. This all-in-one printer takes the place of 4 different stand alone machines, including color document printer, color photo printer, fax machine and scanner. What has impressed me most is that this one machine produces better results in all four uses than the stand alone machines I had which it replaced. You can print photos directly from a digital camera or from a memory card. The color documents and brochures I have printed have the true exact color and clarity I see on the computer monitor as created, even when the ink cartridges are low. As a result, I would recommend this product to any independent contractor or home based business. It is dependable, sturdy and of top quality.

HP officejet is great for the price and meets all my needs!

This printer is amazing.  Whether you are printing a report for school, or photos, it does an amazing job with perfect clarity.  It is easy to use and set up.  The printer does not take up too much room and fits nicely on a small shelf next to the computer desk.  I love the dual copy and faxing modes.  The ink cartridges are a bit expensive, but they last a long time.  The features on this copy HP office jet all in one printer are amazing.  You can choose to fax in both color and black and white.  Four memory card slots and USB port for easy photo printing. Large, 250-sheet input tray. Two-sided printing standard. Nifty scanner feature lets you scan directly to any network share and in multiple formats, including PDF.  The printer/fax is a little noisy, but overall a great job.  The double sided printing is great, but takes a few seconds between each side for drying.  I will definitely stick with HP printers from now on!

Work Horse, But Feeder Problems for Faxing

3

I am not so "challenged" on printers as I used to work in a printing company many years ago. This printer/scanner/Fax machine is "good", but falls short on it's Fax capabilities that could have made this machine great. The Feeder on top of the lid tends to disconnnect too easily, falls off and only tends to be able to feed 4 pieces of a document at a time, making it limited for even a very small office.   The machine can reduce text sizes, has photosmart capabilties and is Ethernet friendly.   The menu on the HP's are fine, but mostly get in the way of "just getting the job done".  Watch out for HP rollers in the back that have a tendency to grab paper and jam easily as well as hold on to paper in que rather than releasing once printed if paper is more than 21 lbs. All in all, for basic use, it is a good machine that works "hard" like any HP product, but I would caution anyone who does volume work to choose this machine as their main copier, as that rollar grabbing and with the document feeder problems, you'd be money ahead to get a better design. I sincerely hope that HP does something about their rollers in the back, this is now the third machine that has had this distictive problem, going back to the original Office Jet Machines back in the 1996-7.

prints well but goes through ink quickly

2

I bought this printer a year ago as I was in need of a wireless printer.  It has worked well and although it is a little large I am glad I bought it.  It is very user friendly and has not given me any crazy errors.  It does go through ink very quickly though and although it sounds great that it takes 4 different colors and you should only need to buy one at a time you really do need all of them as they run out at the same time.  I'm also dissappointed in the fact that you can select it to print in only black and white and yet it will still use the other colors of ink.  I'd really like to print in just black using just black.  I guess I need a laser jet but I figured it would be doable on this printer.  The ink is quite expensive and needs to be replaced with little printing.  I've never had a paper jam though and it is super easy to change the ink cartridges.  It also has a help screen that comes up on your computer.

Arrrrgggghhhhh

It seems like there is a daily problemwith this printer/fax/scanner.  If you don't use HP InkJet "brand" paper the ink bleeds, the scanner stops working on a whim and then starts working again without rhyme or reason.  If you print more than 12 pages at a time it often pulls through multiple pages causing misprinting....We haven't had good luck at all with the product.

***Bottom-Line:*** If your home office needs a scanner, copier, (photo) printer and fax, the **HP** **Officejet L7860 **should be given serious consideration. The **Officejet L7680 AIO** is a multifunction printing device (compatible with PC as well as Macintosh) that allows you to print, scan, copy, and fax all from one unit.  The **Officejet L7680** has the added capability of printing photos directly from the unit and will accept input from all manner of removable and or portable memory devices including *SD Media, Multimedia Card (MMC), **Compact Flash (I, II), Memory Sticks, Smart Media, xD-Picture Card, *and* USB port* for connecting directly to a digital camera.  All of these connections are situated on the front of the unit, wherein there is also a USB connection.        Make no mistake this is a big unit, indeed the **OJ L7680 AIO** is larger than the *OJ 7310* it replaces but not by much.  Despite the units size I am able to easily lift it with little effort.  Anyone familiar with the earlier *HP* AIO's will be right at home with the front panel controls, and I especially like the bright 2.5" color display.  Those not familiar with **Officejet** functionality should have little trouble becoming acquainted with the unit.  One notable difference here, unlike its big brother, the **OJ L7780**, the **OJ L7680 AIO** does not ship with an extra 250 sheet paper tray; nor does the **OJ 7680** offer wireless networking.  The lack of these features was not an issue to me, since I do not need large capacity printing, and I can live without wireless networking since the printer is attached to a *Linksys WRTAP-54G Wireless-G* router/access point/hub. Wired networking is built into the **OJ L7680 AIO**; the machine has built-in 10/100 Ethernet port.  Once set up, computers speak directly to the printer abrogating the need for a dedicated print server, or sharing via Windows.  **Note:** *the ****OJ L7680 AIO**** can also be connected directly to a PC via a USB cable (not included), in which case its printer functionality can be shared via Windows.*         The **OJ L7680 AIO** also features an** **automatic document feeder, copy collating, two-sided print, fax, copy and scan; copy, scan, and print up to legal size; and 150-sheet total input paper capacity.   The **OJ L7680 AIO** offers print and copy speeds up to 35 pages per minute (ppm) black, and up to 34 ppm color, with up to 4,800-optimized dpi color and laser-quality text.  Finally, the **OJ L7680 AIO** can fax in black and color and scan with resolutions of up to 2,400 x 4,800-dpi (48-bit) optical. **Software Installation** Be prepared, this installation will take a while to accomplish (up to 35 minutes on older machines) and could take up to 733MB of hard drive real estate.  And while it involves very little end user interface, the installation plows through several steps before it accomplishes its goal of tying the client workstation(s) directly to the **OJ L7680 AIO**.  **Note:** it is recommended that you actually start the software installation process while you are assembling the printer.  Once the print heads and cartridges are installed a rather lengthy (30 minutes) setup process takes place inside the printer.  It is during this phase that the software installation should be started.  **My Viewpoint** One quibble: the memory card slots panel is black like the rest of the printer; this makes the writing very, very hard to read.  The silver background of the *OJ 7310 AIO* makes the card slot much easier to reader.  I think this falls in to the *"what were they thinking"* category.    The **OJ L7680 AIO** represents a further advancement in the All-n-One functionality arena; finally we (the clamoring, demanding public) have hassle-free scanning and fax sharing across the network at a very reasonable price-point.  Built-in wired Ethernet capability make the **OJ L7680 AIO** a versatile, flexible unit that is ideal for a small workgroup setting; I wouldn't install the unit on a floor with more then ten users, the user listing might grow too large and confused to manage.  If you or your small workgroup need a scanner, copier, printer and fax, the **OJ L7680 AIO **should be given serious consideration.**  **
