put on a steady surface cause it does the boogey!

I got the HP 6000 all in one printer with my new laptop.  I hadn't had color before, so I figured I'd get it and see how it was.  It's an okay printer for me- though I usually print B/W I do some color printing as well and it does very well for that.  It takes a little time for the printer to get the information to print and the printer is shaking the whole time. One problem is it moves and shakes well before and during the printing process.  My cat runs and hides when it starts and looks like she's running from an earthquake tremor than a printer.    I wouldn't use this if you had a baby or toddler down for a nap- or nervous pets. I can't say that it is saving on color or black ink as I haven't used it much and am having to replace the whole ink system already.  Its okay for most things and the color is nice and vibrant.  One disappointment- being wireless doesn't mean it will work with a wireless laptop.  You HAVE TO HAVE a wireless system- hub, internet, the whole nine yards, to be able to use the wireless printer with your wireless laptop.  So if you don't have a wireless system in place already, I would get another printer than this one. Performance for what I paid it is pretty good. LOUD and shakes, rattles and rolls while working (and not working) Copy Quality Mine doesn't make copies Ink/Paper Use it seems to go through the colors pretty quickly- and i don't even print color that often. Ease of Use I tell it to print, it prints. Easy peasy. Durability moved it a few times, dropped it once- still works. Design Its honking huge! Almost four times as big as my last printer, 3 times as noisy, and guzzles color.

The HP Officejet 6000 supports Ubuntu Linux out of the box.

The HP Officejet 6000 is one of the few printers which almost supports Ubuntu Linux out of the box. I say *'almost'* because you do have to go the HP support website to download the drivers, but you get a full-functioned driver set as a result. For example, the HP status box shows the ink levels for each of the four cartridges. When I was shopping for a new printer my selection criteria included Lixux support, separate cartridges, refillable cartridges (using third-party ink), LAN connectivity, and 2-sided printing. The HP 6000 does all these with ease. LAN setup, even wireless, was a breeze, even in a mixed environment with Ubuntu, Windows XP, and VISTA. (Other versions of Linux are supported too, see the HP support site.) Two-sided printing is a bit slow in that there is a long pause as the printer formats the page image and flips each page, but so far it has worked flawlessly in Windows. In Ubuntu, some users, including myself, have reported reversed page images on the backs of the pages, so two-sided Unbuntu has to be done manually by these users.   Performance I don't have a formal measure of speed (pages per minute), but my perception of single-sided printing is that it is quite fast. Duplex is another story. There is a very long wait for the ink to dry before each page is flipped.

This is my 3rd HP all-in-one and I just keep going back. None of them has malfunctioned, I have just passed the printer along to family members when the neer features have come out. Things I like: The quality seems great. I like to be able to scan photos at high resolution at home. The multi-card reader has saved me from the hassles of other methods of tranporting photos from camera to computer. I love the "fast draft" mode - it's super fast and the quality is good enough for the reports I write for work. Things that could use improvement: The scanner mode is slow and with my current set up, I have to access the scanner through my Start menu> printers and scanners> scan a document or photo> and then set the specifics, like DPI. The copier is slow. Sometimes in fast draft mode it prematurely pulls paper through, causing half-page prints. It goes so afst in fast raft that it sometimes spits paper across the room. In is expensive.

The HP AIO Officejet 6000 - You get what you pay for

I worked in the inkjet remanufacturing industry running an ink and toner test lab for over 9 years and in that time, used hundreds of different inkjet printers from a variety of manufacturers.  Although I generally like HP's products because of their ease of use and because their ink cartridges have the print head on the cartridges rather than within the printer (thus ensuring a new print head every time you buy a new cartridge), I am not satisfied with the HP OfficeJet 6000.  Most notably, I've had trouble with the paper feed as about 75% of the time, I've had to hand-feed the paper into the printer so that it will feed and print properly.  I know that sometimes wear and tear on the feed rollers will cause paper feed issues, but the printer I own is relatively new and has not been used often (less than 500 pages total have been printed).  Another problem with this printer is the cost of the ink.  I know that ALL ink is expensive, but when you can buy a new printer for less than the cost of replacing all four ink cartridges, something is wrong.  Unless you can find a really good deal on this printer and can put up with having to hand feed pages while it's printing, I'd recommend buying another HP printer.

This all in one printer is awesome.  I have had several printers that have just not stood up to the challenge as this printer does.  I homeschool my children which means printing, copying, scanning, the works.  It is very reliable.  I have updates regularly from the internet that helps the performance of the machine, along with many, many extras.  I would definitely recommend for everyone to have this printer.  It's very good on ink as well, it takes five cartridges but it's worth it because everything is lifelike and legible.  I am definitely in love with this printer.   I am also able with the ease of the internet link, refill ink without ever leaving my home.  It also prints very fast there is minimal delay in getting a full printing job done.  I also like the little lift window in which I am able to view what I copying to make sure that it is centered before I copy it.  This feature has saved many of my documents from coming out half printed.  And the best part of it all is that it is very affordable.  You can always catch them on sale.

No Bells and Whistle--Just a Great Printer

It does not have a scanner or a fax but it is a really great wireless printer.  It is easy to install, quick to print copies and the copy qualities are great.  It even has the added feature of being able to print on both sides of the paper and the price was excellent.

The HP Officejet 6000 All-in-one is a fantastic product!

**I absolutely love this product! We needed a scanner and it seemed crazy to buy just a scanner for the prices that were offered by various stores so we decided to buy the HP Officejet 6000 All-In-One InkJet Printer. We definitely we not disappointed the all-in-one does it all from printing, scanning, and copying. My family has been so pleased with HP all-in-one and if the kids need something printed off or copied for school then we have absolutely no problem getting it done.  I cannot even imagine now how we did without the HP all-in-one in the first place. If you need pictures printed then no problem they come out crystal clear. The picture printiing quality of this item is absolutely amazing. If you print a lot of pictures then you definitely will not be let down because the quality is so amazing.  The ****HP Officejet 6000 All-In-One is the best buy that my family has made in years in terms of a printer.**** **

HP Officejet 6000 All-In-One InkJet Printer Is Very Reliable

4

HP Officejet 6000 All-In-One InkJet does what it's name states,it prints, faxes, scans, and copies. I personally do not use the fax but I print, copy, and scan almost daily. It is very dull looking (not that I had in mind to buy a printer to match my curtains)  and a little too big for my taste. Installation was not very difficult at all; you just have to follow the instructions well and not skip anything. It prints pretty fast so if you are in a hurry this definitely is a time-saver. Photo quality is definitely good for the price. Cable was not included with the printer luckily I had an old spare one;saved me the hassle of going back to the store. It does tend to jam occasionally. The printer does make noise but what printer doesn't? Not that loud but can be become slightly distracting when printing multiple pages.Sometimes it wobbles a bit when the printing is in process so just make sure it is place on a flat surface. The printer is highly reliable and I have not had any major problems with it as of yet.

would be nice if it worked

seriously.. this printer would be great if it worked.  i bought it to print up my wedding invitations, and it printed them all but then it stopped working and gave an error message.  i have horrible luck with this brand of printer.  my husband looked at it and confirmed that its broken.  waste of money.  the cartridges are a little expensive too.
